Sovereign Lending Group telemarketing $500K class action settlement

Sovereign Lending Group agreed to a $500,000 class action settlement to resolve claims that it contacted consumers with unsolicited telemarketing robocalls.

The settlement benefits individuals who received one or more telephone calls from Sovereign Lending Group or its agents to a number obtained from The Money Source despite asking for the calls to stop.

Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim they received unsolicited robocalls from Sovereign Lending Group despite asking the company to stop calling them. The plaintiffs say these calls violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

Sovereign Lending Group is a mortgage lender that offers debt consolidation, refinancing and other financial services.

Sovereign Lending Group hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $500,000 to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of participating claimants. No payment estimates are available at this time.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Jan. 2, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Feb. 27, 2024.

To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 2, 2023.
