Schnucks rewards class action settlement

Schnucks agreed to a class action settlement to resolve claims it charged sales tax on the full pre-discount price of purchases instead of the lower, discounted price.

The Schnucks settlement benefits Schnucks Rewards members who redeemed rewards points on purchases of tax-eligible items at a Schnucks store in Missouri between May 2, 2020, and Aug. 7, 2026.

According to the class action lawsuit, Schnucks charged sales tax on the full pre-discount price of purchases instead of the lower, discounted price. Plaintiffs in the case say this practice violated Missouri law.

Schnucks is a regional grocer headquartered in St. Louis, operating primarily in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.

Schnucks has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a maximum settlement cap of $6.3 million to resolve the sales tax class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Schnucks settlement, class members can receive a cash payment of $7.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 3, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Schnucks sales tax settlement is scheduled for Dec. 4, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 3, 2026.
