$10M Forbes Media website tracking class action settlement

Forbes Media LLC agreed to a $10 million class action settlement to resolve claims it violated California privacy laws by tracking users without their consent.

The Forbes settlement benefits California residents who accessed websites owned or controlled by Forbes between Dec. 20, 2023, and June 11, 2026, and had their IP addresses and/or unique identifiers shared with third parties as a result of trackers present on Forbes’ websites.

Forbes is a media company that provides news, financial information and other content to its users. The company has a number of websites, including Forbes.com.

According to a class action lawsuit, Forbes violated California privacy laws by tracking users on its websites without their consent. Plaintiffs in the case say that Forbes used third-party trackers on its websites to collect IP addresses and other unique identifiers.

The plaintiffs say that Forbes’ actions violated the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and the California Unfair Competition Law.

Forbes has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $10 million class action settlement to resolve the website tracking class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Forbes settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of claims filed with the settlement.

Class members who submit a valid claim form will receive a proportional share of the net settlement fund. No payment estimates are available at this time.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 24, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Forbes settlement is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2026.

To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 9, 2026.

The class action settlement benefits California residents who, from Dec. 20, 2023, to June 11, 2026, accessed websites owned or controlled by Forbes and had their IP addresses and/or unique identifiers shared with third parties as a result of the trackers present on Forbes’ websites.
