HelloFresh agreed to a $7.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims it charged customers for subscription renewals without their consent.
The HelloFresh class action settlement benefits consumers who were:
- Enrolled in a HelloFresh automatic-renewal subscription between Jan. 1, 2019 and Aug. 18, 2025,
- Charged for their first shipment without their knowledge or consent,
- Canceled their subscription after that first shipment, and
- Never received a refund for the unauthorized charges.
HelloFresh is a meal kit delivery service that sends customers all the ingredients they need to make a meal at home. The company offers a variety of meal plans to fit different dietary needs and preferences.
According to a HelloFresh class action lawsuit, the company fails to adequately disclose the terms of its automatic renewal subscriptions. As a result, consumers are allegedly charged for subscription renewals without their consent in violation of California’s Automatic Renewal Law.
HelloFresh has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $7.5 million settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the HelloFresh settlement, eligible class members can receive a cash refund for all amounts they paid to HelloFresh before Aug. 18, 2025, subject to any pro rata deductions required under the Final Judgment and Injunction. Any individual who received a full refund of all amounts charged before the effective date of judgment (Aug. 14, 2025) will no longer be considered an eligible recipient.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 17, 2025.
Who’s Eligible
California residents who were enrolled in a HelloFresh automatic renewal product subscription between Jan. 1, 2019, and Aug. 18, 2025, who were charged for the first shipment without their knowledge or consent, who canceled their subscription after the first shipment, and who never received a refund for the charges.
Potential Award
Varies. Eligible class members can receive a cash refund for all amounts they paid to HelloFresh before Aug. 18, 2025, subject to any pro rata deductions required under the Final Judgment and Injunction.
