Drivers could benefit from a $3.75 million TransAm Trucking settlement resolving claims it failed to pay wages as required by federal law.

The settlement benefits individuals who attended orientation for TransAm Trucking in Rockwall, Texas, or Tampa, Florida, between October 2020 and March 2021.

Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim TransAm Trucking failed to properly compensate drivers in accordance with state and federal wage laws. The trucking company allegedly did not pay truckers for orientation and training time, causing them to work for multiple days with no compensation.

TransAm Trucking is a trucking company headquartered in Kansas that operates in the Midwest, Mid-South, Northeast and Southeast regions of the United States.

TransAm Trucking hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $3.75 million to resolve the Fair Labor Standards Act class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the TransAm Trucking settlement, class members can receive cash payments based on their experiences.

Class members who attended driver orientation will receive a pro rata share of a $125,000 settlement fund. These payments will be at least $35 but could receive larger payments depending on the number of valid claims filed.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 23, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Oct. 25, 2024.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 23, 2024.
