Finastra Technology Inc. agreed to pay $3.12 million to resolve a nationwide class action lawsuit alleging it failed to prevent an October 2024 data breach.
The Finastra settlement benefits individuals who were sent a notice informing them that their private information may have been impacted in the October 2024 data breach.
According to plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit, the Finastra data breach occurred in October 2024, when a targeted cyberattack on the company’s computer systems allowed attackers to access files that may have contained sensitive information, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and financial account numbers.
Finastra is a financial services software company that provides banking, lending and payments technology to financial institutions.
Finastra has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay a $3.12 million class action settlement to resolve the Finastra data breach lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Finastra settlement, class members can receive up to $2,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between Oct. 31, 2024, and Nov. 27, 2026, as a result of the data breach. These losses may include fraud, identity theft, credit report and credit monitoring fees, credit freeze costs, ID replacement costs and postage. Class members must provide documentation of these losses to receive reimbursement.
Instead of reimbursement for documented losses, class members can claim a one-time pro rata cash payment. Money remaining in the settlement fund after expenses and other benefits are paid will be divided equally among class members who claim this payment.
All class members are eligible for one year of free CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring services. These services include $1 million in financial fraud insurance and access to fraud resolution agents.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 13, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Finastra settlement is scheduled for Dec. 14, 2026.
To receive class action settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 27, 2026.
