The Credit Report Bankruptcy Discharge class action lawsuit settlement has been posted. This class action lawsuit settlement is funded by TransUnion, Equifax and Experian credit reporting companies. They were allegedly listing debts that should have been discharged in bankruptcy improperly. It provides $20 for a simple claim, or $150, $500 or $750 to those who suffered damages because of the way the charges were being listed on their credit report. I didn’t know there was a breach, I was never notified.
the cra’s or someone won an appeal which challenges the fairness of the settlement in which the originators of the class action would stand to get a much larger settlement than all others, this means the state supreme court may get involved. so everything will be delayed until the constitutionality of equal amounts per class member, vs originators is determined. example;originators 25k each vs other class members 20.00 to 750.00 estimated. 1 or 2 other states had this occur and cut back on the amounts originators asked for. my guess california will rule the same as the other states. and we wait!!!!
