T-Mobile LogoA few quick updates. First, you can see me, Scott Hardy, on ABC 15 News tomorrow (Monday) at 6 PM in Phoenix, AZ. I discussed a number of items during the interview with Consumer Action reporter Joe Ducey but the items airing tomorrow center on the Wal-Born and Cold MD class action lawsuit settlements which close for claims in September. The rest of the items we discussed should be airing later in September. I’ll let you know once they’re going to be on. I’ll post the video once it’s up on ABC15’s website.

Second is that I wanted to briefly mention the T-Mobile Unlock Codes class action lawsuit settlement. This one is an injunctive award meaning there’s no claim form. What it allows you to do as a T-Mobile customer (in good standing and one who’s with them for at least 60 days) is request an Unlock Code for your phone. That means you can swap out the SIM card for another carrier (AT&T for example) or if you’re traveling internationally you can put in a compatible carriers SIM card when you’re in their area which can save you hundreds of dollars in roaming fees. What’s especially interesting is that this creates the example for other carriers to follow. It’s entirely plausible that we’ll see the others fall into line over the next year or so which is GREAT for consumers! We’ll see!
