A mother and father filed a recent JUUL vape pen lawsuit on behalf of their 15-year-old child against the makers of the e-cigarettes over allegations that they contain almost “three times more nicotine than is necessary” to support adult smoker nicotine cravings.
The JUUL vape pen lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York demanding a trial by jury. The lawsuit was filed on June 26, 2018.
According to the JUUL vap pen lawsuit, D.P. is a 15-year old high school freshman. The plaintiffs say he first tried e-cigarettes in September 2017 and became immediately addicted to nicotine.
Despite his parents’ extreme measure which included checking his son’s urine for nicotine regularly, depriving him of areas where he could smoke and even changing schools, they allege he continued to be severely addicted to nicotine.
According to the JUUL vape pen lawsuit, his nicotine addiction has “altered his brain physically and chemically, and has put him at risk for a lifetime of life-long health problems, to say nothing of the economic costs of nicotine addiction.”
The plaintiffs are both residents of Valley Cottage, N.Y. They say that their son is a talented jazz musician who likes to mountain bike and ski. He is also a member of the high school track team.
However, upon entering the school, he entered an environment in which e-cigarette smoking was very pervasive. It would be multiple times per day that he would be offered “hits” to smoke from an e-cigarette, say his parents.
Due to his addiction, it “had an extreme effect on his behavior,” the lawsuit reports. He became “withdrawn, anxious, highly irritable and prone to angry outbursts, “the lawsuit adds.
His parents began to take serious measures: taking him from the specialized high school and moving him to another school, removing his bedroom door, and requiring that he not be allowed to go to the bathroom unescorted while at school.
However, he says that his feelings of “urges” to return to e-cigarette use would “become so powerful that he is unable to avoid JUUling even though it subjects him to disciplinary measures at home and as school,” the JUUL vape pen lawsuit states.
The JUUL vape pen lawsuit was filed on multiple counts including defective design, manufacturing defect, product defect as the result of inadequate warning and negligent design and marketing.

Sad world we live in my son is addicted to these things as well. It’s all over the schools. Makes me so mad my son picked these up.
Vaping is made to look safe for our teens but it’s just as bad as smoking. These companies do anything to make a dollar at our kids expense

I just saw on the news that your group wants to ban sales of flavored liquids for the vape pen. Never heard of such an absurd thing in my life. All because parents can’t control their kids 50 yard old adults can’t buy flavored juices for E pens…? I think that parents need to start punishing their kids instead of asking Allah to punish us half-century-old adults. How many kids are out there smoking cigarettes why don’t we just ban cigarettes? How many kids are out there drinking why don’t they just ban alcohol from responsible adults as well. Y’all need to get a life start controlling your own children as we did ours and make consequences for when you find out there vaping not punish other adults for your children’s action and your lack of ability to control them
We as parents do what we have control of.. switched schools.. don’t allow any funds. Clear back pack.. grounded to the house.. switched schools.. ankle monitor.. weekly nicotine testing .. this shit is dangerous.. our daughter had a seizure and guess what?? Now she’s a 17 year old addicted to nicotine
It’s not even about that. They were intentionally targeting and marketing their products to teens.. making them think it’s not really dangerous or addictive like tobacco. Even a young adult like myself who knows better than that, I know it’s a tobacco product. But they misrepresented the strength and amount of nicotine (which is actually highly poisonous) when they know damn well who they’re targeting. And ultimately failed to mention that they contain heavy metals and other chemicals that can causes damage and can effect health and well being permanently!! Even mental health. All around it just makes me feel upset and lied to!!! So yeah they should get sued so bad. It’s not like they said hey u might need a double lung transplant after this…. Do u still wanna vape? They purposely misrepresented the product strength, ingredients, and side effects just to sell it and make a buck and damage the consumer!! So it’s not weather u watch or punish the teens. I’m pretty sure if they knew how bad it was they would have made better choices if they’re around parents or not, strict or not, rich or in poverty. Knowledge is power and they withheld the facts… So I call BS… Just saying.
they should talk about the vaping juices, they are very toxic my husband has many body unexpliclable rashes though out his body and now he has to take strong monthly shots
