old spice class actionDeodorant manufacturing giant Procter & Gamble is facing a serious class action lawsuit filed by a man in New York alleging injuries from Old Spice Deodorant.

The Old Spice class action lawsuit alleges that the men’s deodorant caused chemical burns on numerous customers, pointing out 13 different Old Spice products that were allegedly defectively made and caused numerous consumers to suffer from Old Spice chemical burn.

Lead plaintiff Rodney Colley stated that he relied on the manufacturing company’s website regarding any potential Old Spice side effects, in which Proctor & Gamble’s site stated “no known effect” regarding rash or other skin irritation.

Colley had purchased a bottle of Old Spice Endurance in March 2016, and subsequently suffered Old Spice chemical burn he claims was a direct result of using the product. Colley decided to file the Old Spice  class action lawsuit after learning that numerous other customers suffered similar injuries.

At least 100 consumers have been injured according to the Old Spice lawsuit, stating that they also experienced chemical burns in their armpits.

Old Spice Class Action Lawsuit Allegations

According to the Old Spice class action lawsuit allegations, Colley and other customers who suffered from an Old Spice rash have posted their ordeals through online pictures and complaints. These posts have been seen on Facebook and a variety of other social media websites, with pictures showing the severity of the alleged Old Spice chemical burns.

Consumers first began voicing their complaints over the Old Spice rash sometime in September 2010, with at least 130 online complaints collected in a representative sample. One Old Spice customer posted his experience online and was cited in Colley’s Old Spice class action lawsuit:

“Years back I tried using one of Old Spice’s deodorants and received awful burns under my arms that lasted for weeks. Even worse, it was the only deodorant I packed for a 3-week trip. After realizing the cause (which took some time) I stopped using the deodorant but didn’t use any other for weeks due to the seriousness of the infection under my arms,” Greg from Virginia posted on March 26, 2016.

The concerns reflect the class action suit, which alleges that the Old Spice products are unreasonably dangerous to consumers and are not safe to use. Furthermore, the Old Spice rash lawsuit claims that Procter & Gamble earns millions each year from their popular deodorants, but failed to warn consumers against the potential chances of developing an Old Spice rash.

Colley is calling for class action status for his Old Spice lawsuit due to number of similar claims that may be filed against the company.

If Colley’s class action request gets approved, it will be open to all Class Members who purchased Old Spice deodorant products between 2012 to present time and suffered from chemical burns. Any potential claimants should contact a specialized lawyer, to determine if they have an Old Spice lawsuit.

The Old Spice Chemical Burn Class Action Lawsuit is Colley. v. Procter & Gamble Co., Case No. 2:16-cv-00225-MHW-KAJ, in the U.S. District Court of Southern Ohio.
