Fax advertisementMortgage company Matrix LS Inc. is fighting a class action lawsuit over allegations it illegally sent fax advertisements in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. If you were sent a fax advertisement from Matrix in the past nine years, you may be eligible to receive hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars from this lawsuit if it settles.

The Matrix class action lawsuit is titled CE Design Ltd. V. Matrix LS Inc., that alleges Matrix violated the TCPA by faxing advertisements to people without their prior express invitation or permission.

Class Members of the class action lawsuit settlement include all persons who, on or after June 22, 2004, were sent a facsimile message containing material advertising the commercial availability of any property, goods or services on behalf of Matrix.

Violating the TCPA carries stiff penalties, and Class Members who remain in the settlement stand to receive a lot of money. If you remain in the Class and a class action settlement is reached, you may receive up to $500 for each advertising fax that was sent to you. If the Court finds that Matrix willfully or knowingly violated the TCPA, the Court may increase the award amount to $1,500 per violation.

We will keep an eye out for case updates and will post more information as it comes available.

If you wish to exclude yourself and retain your right to sue individually, you must submit your request by March 28, 2013.

Receiving unsolicited fax messages from companies is against the law. If you received a fax advertisement from a company without your permission, you may be entitled to hundreds of dollars in compensation. I am member 6275534 re CE Design, Ltd., et al. v. Matrix LS, Inc., 05 L 269. I changed my address in May of 2017 from 20750 Ventura Blvd. #340, Woodland Hills, CA 91364 to 16133 Ventura Blvd., Penthouse, Encino, CA 91436. My phone number changed at the same time from 818-676-0951 to 818-905-7185. I never received anything from that class action. What is the status of that matter? Was anything sent to me and not delivered because my forwarding address expired? If so, can it be re-sent to my current address? Thank you.

Is this a legit lawsuit? Should we submit claim? I don’t even remember if we received one specifically from Matrix. We do get a lot of junk/spam faxes at my agency.

My fax was missing the second page. Any idea who I would contact to have it re-faxed or how I would submit the claim?

    1. Pat says:

The second page contains a UNIQUE User ID and Password needed to file a claim, so you probably need to contact the “Claims Administrator” to see what you need to do to have it re-sent. The number for the is 877-268-2976.

Thank you for the information. I called the number provided by you and was told they would re-fax me the Notice so I could make a claim.

I received a fax for a class action settlement with proof of claim instructions. How and where do I submit a claim on or before October 6, 2014?

    1. Rebecca says:

It gives you that information at the bottom of the second page…
