Frito-Lay Tostitos & SunChips “All Natural” False Advertising Class Action Lawsuit
By Mike Holter

A federal class action lawsuit claims Frito-Lay falsely advertises that it’s Tostitos and SunChips are “made with all-natural ingredients,” even though the corn and vegetable oil used to make the chips are made from genetically modified plants.
The Frito-Lay chips class action lawsuit claims that consumers looking for healthier products are deceived into purchasing Tostitos and SunChips because their labels and advertisements claim they are “All Natural.” Consumers have no idea, however, that the chips are made from ingredients derived from plants grown from genetically modified seeds, the lawsuit says.
“Frito-Lay clearly targets through its labeling of its Tostitos and SunChips products as ‘made with ALL NATURAL ingredients’ consumers looking for truly natural foods, as it even admits on its website,” the Frito-Lay class action lawsuit states. Reasonable consumers, therefore, “have no reason to demand products without biotechnology ingredients because the ‘natural’ designation represents to consumes that they are getting biotech-free food.”
The Frito-Lay Tostitos and SunChips class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all U.S. consumers who have purchased Tostitos or SunChips from December 12, 2007 through the final disposition of the case. It is seeking damages, restitution and a permanent injunction barring Frito-Lay from continuing the false advertising.

UPDATE: On Oct. 3, 2017, Frito-Lay has agreed to end five years of litigation over labeling on its products that indicate they are “made with all natural ingredients” by changing its labels.

false advertising

Okay for starters you can’t sue a company for using their own money to make sure their food is kosher. Secondly, rabbis don’t “bless” the food, they inspect it to make sure it isn’t made with forbidden ingredients
to the person above me. you’re so stupid. autism has nothing to do for “kosher” foods… its food that is blessed so certain religious feel that they can eat foods. autism is a neurological disease WHICH NO ONE KNOWS how its caused ESPECIALLY NOT BY KOSHER FOODS. i’m so offended by your stupidity. Watch the news everyone in awhile.
you are kidding Kosher who needs this, i’m shock, isn’t that for people with Autism, you never know what you are eating, i’ve seen these symbols on many containers and i did not know this, i will not be buying any food with U or K on it, thanks!
There should be a class action lawsuit against the U or K designations on food. Do you know that those symbols means it is Kosher. We are all paying for Kosher food. Food is more expensive when it is Kosher, and it is not any better than normal food. It is a religious practice. But they hide the fact that every food in the store is Kosher. There is even a Kosher section to confuse you. Who really needs Kosher food? Maybe about 1% of Americans, possibly. Again the 99% paying for the 1%. Someone please start a class action lawsuit against this deceptive practice of our food system. KOsher water is not better than natural spring water. Food prices are higher because Rabbis get paid to bless the food!
