Evenflo has issued a recall for more than 59,000 Reo by Revolve360 child car seats due to a potential safety hazard involving the headrest, which may shift during a crash.
The recall was announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on July 17. It affects specific models of the Reo by Revolve360 child seats sold in the United States and Canada.
The issue was discovered during testing, where the headrest shifted positions in its two highest settings during a crash simulation. This defect was observed in forward-facing configurations at positions 10 and 11, and in rear-facing mode at position 11.
The affected car seat models in the United States include CS260212521 (Brookline), CS260212522 (Lenox), CS260212536 (Holden), CS260212537 (Nantucket), CS260212538 (Danvers) and CS260212539 (Chelsea). In Canada, the models CS260212521C (Brookline) and CS260212538C (Danvers) are recalled.
The recall notice says no injuries have been reported in connection with the issue.
Headrest safety issue prompts Evenflo recall
The Evenflo recall notice emphasizes that the headrest’s shifting poses a potential risk during a crash, particularly when used in the highest positions.
However, the car seats can still be used safely in lower headrest positions. For forward-facing configurations, positions 1 through 9 are deemed safe, while in rear-facing mode, positions 1 through 10 can be used without concern.
Evenflo is currently developing a remedy for the issue. In the meantime, the company plans to send interim letters to notify owners of the safety risk, with the first batch expected to be mailed by Aug. 17.
To address the issue, Evenflo is working on a solution and will inform consumers as soon as it becomes available.

Evenflo says it has not received any reports of injuries related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Earlier this year, Graco recalled certain SnugRide Turn & Slide car seats after laboratory testing revealed a structural flaw in the attached base.
