Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream has issued a recall for specific batches of Outshine Fruit Bars due to potential glass contamination.

On Aug. 16, Dreyer’s announced a voluntary recall of certain Outshine Fruit Bars, citing potential contamination with glass particles. The recall affects select flavors, including Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry, all in 6-count 2.5-ounce packages.

These products were distributed to retailers across the United States. The specific UPCs and batch numbers are listed on the packaging, allowing consumers to identify the affected products.

According to the recall notice, “The safety, quality and integrity of our products remain our highest priority.” No other Outshine products or varieties are impacted by this recall.

Consumers advised to check Outshine Fruit Bars for identifiers

Consumers are advised to check their Outshine Fruit Bars against UPC and batch code identifiers to ensure safety.

“Consumers who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund,” the recall notice advises.

The company has also provided contact information for consumers with questions, encouraging them to reach out via email at [email protected].

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream says it has not received any reports of illness or injury related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

However, Dreyer’s is facing a lawsuit claiming it misrepresents Outshine frozen fruit bars as containing only real fruit, leading consumers to believe they are a healthy snack option.
