Did You Get a Call From The Malaysia Airlines Contact Number? Many people in the state of California have been recorded without their consent and they do not know it. In California, it is illegal for a phone call to be recorded unless both parties are aware and give their consent to the recording.

Many businesses violate these laws, both knowingly and unknowingly, by calling California residents or receiving calls from California residents. If you called the Malaysia Airlines contact number or were called by it, and you live in California, you may be eligible for legal compensation.

Illegal California Call Recording

California has very strict privacy laws in place. In fact, California’s privacy laws are even stricter than federal law. It is illegal, according to state law, to record a phone conversation unless all recorded parties give their consent. This is true whether or not the phone call was inbound or outbound.

For example, if a customer from California made a call to the Malaysia Airlines contact number and was recorded without consent, the Malaysia Airlines contact number could be in violation of California state laws. Likewise, if the Malaysia Airlines contact number made an outbound call to an individual living in the state of California and that call was recorded without the consent of the individual, this may also be a violation of California state law.

Companies often precede their phone calls, whether inbound or outbound, with a simple recorded message stating that the call could be recorded for training purposes or for quality assurance. This notification signals the caller that the phone call may be recorded. It is now the caller’s responsibility to remain on the line, thereby giving consent, or hang up. If a call such as this ends, the caller has not given consent to be recorded.

But, if a call to or from a company such as Malaysia Airlines contact number or other companies is recorded without that initial recorded message, the customer has not given consent. If this occurs, the company is in violation of California privacy law.

These laws are in place even if the company in question does not headquarter or even do business in California. A company could be in violation of California state recording laws simply if the call was made to or from someone in California.

If a company such as the Malaysia Airlines contact number violates California call recording law, they could be liable for steep penalties upwards of $5,000 per violation.

There are many companies that may be engaging in such practices. These include American Airlines: Lost Baggage, Cancelled Flight, or Emergency Information Number, British Airways, Czech Airlines, Dermalogica, Fisher & Paykel, Harman Audio, Hunter Boots, JBL Audio, Malaysia Airlines, and Tupperware.

If you were called by a company such as the Malaysia Airlines contact number while in California and you did not hear a warning that the call was being recorded, your privacy rights may have been violated. Contacting an experienced attorney can help you determine your options.

If you live in California and you did not receive a warning when calling a toll-free number, your call may have been recorded in violation of California law, and you may be entitled to compensation. See if you qualify to file a California call recording class action lawsuit.
