CVS All Natural Flu Relief Class Action Lawsuit
By Kimberly Mirando
A federal class action lawsuit claims CVS Pharmacy’s homeopathic All Natural Flu Relief “is nothing more than a sugar pill” that CVS falsely advertises as being able to treat flu symptoms.
CVS advertises and markets All Natural Flu Relief as a generic version of Oscillococcinum, a homeopathic medicine that purportedly relieves symptoms of the flu (although a separate class action lawsuit against the makers of Oscillococcinum disagrees).
“However, Flu Relief is nothing more than a sugar pill that Defendant falsely advertises as having the ability to relieve the flu. In reality, Flu Relief has no impact on the flu or any symptoms that accompany the flu,” the CVS All Natural Flu Relief class action lawsuit states.
The false advertising lawsuit goes on to say that the alleged “active” ingredient in CVS Flu Relief is so diluted that it is effectively “not even present” in the medicine, and even if it was, the alleged “active” ingredient “has no impact on the flu or any symptoms that accompany the flu.”
The CVS All Natural Flu Relief class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all California residents who purchased CVS Pharmacy brand “All Natural Flu Relief” at any time within the past four years.
It is seeking class certification, damages, restitution and an injunction ordering CVS to cease and desist from further false advertising of the medicine.
