Right Guard sellers agree to pay $1.9M to end claims antiperspirant sprays contain benzene
Henkel Corp. and Thriving Brands LLC agreed to pay $1.9 million to resolve claims they sold Right Guard brand antiperspirant sprays that either had or were at risk of being contaminated with benzene, a known human carcinogen.
The class action settlement will benefit a nationwide class of consumers who purchased Right Guard Sport and Right Guard Xtreme antiperspirant aerosol and spray products between Nov. 19, 2018, and June 8, 2023.
Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 14, 2023.
A&W to pay $15M to resolve claims it falsely advertised root beer, cream soda products contained real vanilla
A&W Concentrate Co. and Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. agreed to pay $15 million to put to bed claims the companies falsely advertised their root beer and cream soda products contained real vanilla.
The class action settlement will benefit a nationwide class of consumers who purchased one or more A&W Root Beer or Cream Soda products between Feb. 7, 2016, and June 2, 2023, that were labeled with the statement “made with aged vanilla.”
Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 18, 2023, to be eligible to make a claim to join the class action settlement.
Macy’s to pay $10.5M to resolve claims it sold CVC sheets marketed with an inflated thread count
Macy’s agreed to pay $10.5 million to end claims the company sold CVC sheets that were falsely advertised with an inflated thread count.
The class action settlement will benefit consumers who purchased one or more CVC sheets, which AQ Textiles supplied to Macy’s, at a Macy’s retail store location between Nov. 8, 2013, and March 24, 2023.
Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by April 17, 2024.
Illinois’ Instagram users to receive $68.5M over claims Meta violated state’s biometric privacy law
Meta Platforms agreed to pay $68.5 million to put to bed claims its Instagram platform violated BIPA by collecting and storing the biometric data of users without first obtaining the required consent to do so.
The class action settlement will benefit an Illinois class of Instagram users who were active on the platform in the state at any time between Aug. 10, 2015, and Aug. 16, 2023.
Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 27, 2023, to qualify to make a claim to join the class action settlement.
UKG agrees to pay $6M over claims it failed to protect data during 2021 data breach of Kronos private cloud
UKG agreed to pay $6 million to resolve claims it failed to safeguard the private data of consumers during a 2021 data breach that affected its Kronos private cloud environment.
The settlement will benefit a class of all current and former employees or contractors of a UKG customer who had their data stored on Kronos’ private cloud at the time of the December 2021 data breach.
Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 3, 2023.
Inventure Foods to pay $900,000 to end false advertising claims relating to TGI Friday’s-brand mozzarella stick snacks
Inventure Foods agreed to pay $900,000 to resolve claims it sold TGI Friday’s branded mozzarella sticks that were allegedly falsely advertised as containing real mozzarella cheese.
The class action settlement will benefit a nationwide class of consumers who purchased a variety of different TGI Friday’s Mozzarella Sticks Snacks from between Jan. 1, 2017, and July 31, 2022.
Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 25, 2023, to be eligible to make a claim to join the class action settlement.
Standard Market to pay $1.25M to settle claims it disclosed workers’ biometric data to third parties
The Standard Market agreed to a settlement worth $1.25 million that will end claims the company violated BIPA by alleging disclosing the biometric identifiers of its Illinois workers to third parties.
The settlement will benefit an Illinois class of individuals who worked for The Standard Market in the state and who had their fingerprints or finger scans captured and disclosed by the company from between May 9, 2014, and Feb. 22, 2020.
Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 18, 2023.
NetSpend settles FTC claims it harmed customers by allegedly denying, delaying activation of prepaid debit cards
NetSpend reached a settlement agreement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to resolve claims the company denied or delayed the activation of its prepaid debit cards.
The FTC says it will return money to consumers who were financially injured after being unable to access their funds after purchasing a NetSpend prepaid debit card from between Jan. 1, 2010, and Aug. 31, 2016.
Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 21, 2023, to be eligible to receive a refund from the FTC.
Optimum, Suddenlink agree to pay $15M to resolve claims they charged hidden fees
Optimum and Suddenlink agreed to pay $15 million to end claims customers were charged a hidden fee despite allegedly being promised they would only receive a flat rate monthly payment.
The class action settlement benefits Optimum and Suddenlink customers who were charged a variety of different fees from between July 27, 2018, and May 5, 2023.
Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 5, 2023.
Desert Financial Credit Union to pay $6M to end claims it charged illegal overdraft fees
Desert Financial Credit Union agreed to a class action settlement worth $6 million that will resolve claims it charged illegal overdraft fees.
The class action settlement will benefit a class of Desert Financial Credit Union customers who were charged an unrefunded overdraft fee to a checking account that had a sufficient balance at the time of a transaction from between June 1, 2014, and Nov. 1, 2017,
Individuals will not be required to submit a claim form to be eligible to benefit from the class action settlement.
