A new Dazzling Cleaning class action lawsuit accuses the home cleaning service of misleading consumers by failing to disclose that a $19 cleaning offer is conditioned on a $49 per month membership.
Plaintiffs Seth Seneca and Lisa Andoh filed the class action lawsuit against Homeaglow Inc., doing business as Dazzling Cleaning, on May 14 in a California federal court, alleging violations of state and federal consumer protection laws.
According to the Dazzling Cleaning class action, the company advertises a $19 cleaning offer but does not clearly disclose that consumers will be automatically enrolled in a $49 per month membership.
“Consumers seeking to book the advertised, one-off, discounted cleaning with Homeaglow must then navigate to one of the Websites. The Websites similarly represent a promotion to ‘Get Clean for $19,’” the Dazzling Cleaning class action says. “As such, a consumer booking a cleaning has no expectancy that they are starting an on-going membership with Homeaglow.”
Dazzling Cleaning charges early termination fee for membership, lawsuit claims
The Dazzling Cleaning class action alleges the company also charges an early termination fee if consumers cancel the membership before the end of the initial six-month term.
Seneca and Andoh claim they would not have purchased the discounted cleaning if they had known about the membership and early termination fee.
The Dazzling Cleaning class action lawsuit seeks to represent all California consumers who incurred renewal fees or early termination fees in connection with Dazzling Cleaning’s ForeverClean Membership.
The plaintiffs are suing for violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law, False Advertising Law, and Consumer Legal Remedies Act, as well as breach of contract, conversion, unjust enrichment, negligent misrepresentation, and imposition of an illegal penalty.
They seek certification of the class action, damages, restitution, disgorgement of profits, public injunctive relief, and an award of costs and attorneys’ fees.
Homeaglow is facing another lawsuit filed earlier this year from a consumer who claims it made unsolicited robocalls to consumers in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

9 thoughts onClass action lawsuit claims Dazzling Cleaning membership is misleading
How do I join? I had same experience. Unknowingly signed up with 59/month memberships early termination is 210. Website does not even disclose the membership fee. Signed up a four hour cleaning, worker showed up late. Did an ok job but spent over 5 hrs. Tried to charge me extra hour without my consent.
Did they ever tell you how to join?
Add me too!
They scammed me too. I had no idea I was signing up for an ongoing membership, with an early cancellation fee!
I complained to the BBB and to my State’s Attorney General’s office.
I hope they get shut down!
This company is a total scam, completely misleading , I had no idea that I was signing up to be xharged $50 a month , nor was it disclosed that it would be a $40-50 fee to cancel membership. They have over drafted my account with this ongoing fee causing me to lose more funds.
SIGN ME UP! The company was not upfront about their monthly fees (Advertises as $19/mo but then charges $49/mo+) and then repeatedly charged me multiple times a month for different amounts without clear explanation. When you attempt to cancel, they charge an absurd extra fee, making the process even more unfair. This feels deceptive and predatory. A complete scam!
I need to join the class action suite as well. They said a 19 dollar cleaning , then I was enrolled in “forever clean” which is 59 dollars per month and when I try to cancel it’s 105 dollar fee. And also the cleaner dumped the trash i kindly asked her to remove outside of the dumpster on the ground causing my apartment to charge me 150 dollars for improperly disposal of my trash!
I want to join the class action lawsuit I’m in Georgia.
I understand that the families using the cleaning service are being ripped off. But what about the workers? I signed up as a cleaning contractor. then my husband went in to app on his phone and wanted to hire me. I was no where to be found. The only cleaning contractors that came up for for $56 or more an hour. I got my first job request by a lady who already had her 2500 square house cleaned by 5 contractors before me. The job was to pay $57 to clean for the kitchen, 3 bathrooms and all the floors (vacuumed and mopped) for 3 hours. The Homeaglo app stated it was 18 miles away from my location. When I mapped it out by google maps, it was 28 miles and a 45 minute drive one way. Anyhow, if I accepted the job, I would make $19 an hour. Then because it was my first time cleaning her house, Homeaglo would charge me $5 an hour. So I would be making $14.00 an hour. After one adds in the drive time, wear and tear on your vehicle, your cleaning supplies, gas, vehicle insurance, business insurance, I would have only been making $9.33 an hour. I tried to raise my cleaning price to reflect the going cleaning rate in the Tampa area, but the app said it was too high at $50 an hour. I find it hard to belive because the only cleaners that my husband could find on the app for at $56.00 an hour. Not only is Homeaglo misleding to their customers, it is also misleading to its contractors. I didn’t take the job and have not had an inquiry since.
Please add me! They are try to rip me off and they have and they found ways to take your money !
I have encountered numerous reoccurring appointments that I did not make. I will turn off the reoccurring function and it still will add appointments that I never agreed to and I didn’t know about the $49 month membership fees either anyway as of today I’m canceling my account with home glow and I am going to join this class action.
