Cheesecake Factory Drink Price Class Action Lawsuit
By Mike Holter
According to the class action lawsuit, The Cheesecake Factory advertises that “sales tax is included in the price of drinks at the bar,” yet the restaurant tacks on additional sales tax to drinks that are ordered with food.
Plaintiff Thomas Amberg, Jr., alleges he was charged two different prices for identical drinks he purchased at a Cheesecake Factory bar on the same day. According to his complaint, Amberg purchased a bottle of Budweiser from the bar and paid $3.00 for it. He then ordered another bottle of Budweiser along with Eggrolls and was charged more than the original $3.00 because sales tax was added to the price of the beer.
The class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of anyone who visited a Cheesecake Factory location in California, purchased drinks and food at the bar, and was overcharged for their drinks. It is seeking damages, restitution, and a court order requiring Cheesecake Factory to stop deceptively advertising one price and charging another.

What a waste of money and time.
It’s sad that the legal system would even consider this.
The sales tax is added to the bill because one bought FOOD.
Case Closed.
