BMWA class action lawsuit has been filed against BMW alleging certain BMW models have defective airbags that cause them to deploy without warning, causing the driver serious injury.

According to a Consumer Affairs report, the plaintiff who filed the class action lawsuit claimed she was driving her 2000 BMW 323i “on a clear smooth roadway… [with] no bumps, potholes or debris,” when “both driver’s side airbags went off.” The incident caused Richardson “serious internal, orthopedic and head injuries, from which she has not fully recovered.”

This isn’t the first time BMW has struggled with airbag issues. In 2002, BMW recalled 1999 and 2000 3-Series models because the side airbags were at risk for deploying in “non-crash impacts,” such as contacting potholes or curbs. BMW then recalled 200,000 cars and SUVs in 2008 for the opposite problem: the front passenger airbags were not deploying, even in severe accidents.

The class action lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages, to be determined at trial. We’ll keep you updated as this class action lawsuit progresses.

BMW has had my car since September and they are telling me i might get my car back by April this year or might not get it back by then and the parts for it are still not made yet. Now the car is sitting on a lot for 8 months and it is going to crap due to it not being drove and just sitting. They looked at the car when i took it to them and they said i would need 3000.00 to fix all the problems with it and i got a list of some of the parts and they are 12-25.00 parts nothing that is going to add up to 3000.00 and i have not had any problems with the car other than the felt on the a pillers around the front window that need to be glued back and now it is sitting in the sun. I will now need to have a bunch of stuff fixed by the time i get the car back.

I have an 04 bmw 325ci and have got letters from bmw to bring the car in to be fixed and now seen that the one they want to put in the car is bad as well. Now I don’t even want to drive the car due to the airbag might go off and put fragments in the car or it might not go off or just might go off at random what should I do?

I had a car accident with my 2005BMW 325i. My wife was in the passenger seat, her airbag deployed and she suffered some bruises on her face from a possible airbag defect.
