Consumers can receive a voucher from a Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret settlement resolving claims the retailers issued receipts that showed too much payment card information.
The settlement benefits consumers who shopped at Victoria’s Secret, PINK or Bath & Body Works stores between May 10, 2021, and Aug. 8, 2021. The class periods for eligible Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret stores are available on the settlement website.
According to plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit, Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) by printing receipts that included more than the last five digits of card numbers. Consumers in the case claim these non-compliant receipts jeopardized their information.
Bath & Body Works is a body care and home fragrance chain. Victoria’s Secret is a lingerie, bra and swimwear company.
The defendants haven’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum as part of a Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works settlement.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members who file a claim can receive one $15 voucher if they made an eligible purchase at Victoria’s Secret, PINK or Bath & Body Works. Class members will receive a voucher for the store they claim a purchase from. Class members who made a purchase at each store will receive two vouchers—one for Bath & Body Works and one for Victoria’s Secret.
Class members who do not file a claim but made an eligible purchase on a My Bath & Body Works Rewards or Victoria’s Secret branded card will automatically receive a $5 voucher for use at Victoria’s Secret, PINK or Bath & Body Works.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 1, 2024.
The final approval hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2024.
To receive settlement vouchers, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 16, 2024.
