Bank of AmericaDetails on how to file a claim for the $20 million Bank of America credit protection class action lawsuit settlement have arrived. If you signed up for a credit protection plan from Bank of America between 2006 and 2012, you may be eligible to receive a cash payment of $50 or $100 from the BofA credit protection class action settlement.

The Bank of America credit protection settlement will resolve numerous class action lawsuits filed across the country in 2010 that accused Bank of America Corp. and FIA Card Services, N.A. of using deceptive marketing tactics to sign up and charge credit card customers for a number of useless credit-protection services. The cases were consolidated into a single class action lawsuit, titled In Re: Bank of America Credit Protection Marketing & Sales Practices Litigation, which specifically alleges that the defendants enrolled customers in credit protection services through deceptive marketing, charged them for services without authorization, and improperly denied them benefits and/or gave them nothing meaningful in return for the monthly fees they were charged.

Bank of America and FIA Card Services deny any wrongdoing, but have agreed to a $20 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.

Class Members of the Bank of America credit protection class action settlement include all people in the United States who were enrolled in one of the following credit protection programs issued by FIA Cards Services, a subsidiary of Bank of America, between January 1, 2006 and July 17, 2012:

Credit Protection Plus
Cardholder Security Plan
Credit Protection Plan
Credit Protection Deluxe
Credit Protection Fleet

For clarification purposes, the Settlement Class includes customers who originally enrolled in a Credit Protection program prior to January 1, 2006, but remained enrolled at any time on or after January 1, 2006.

As a Class Member, you’re entitled to one of the following class action settlement benefits:

(1) If you attempted to claim Credit Protection benefits but were improperly denied these benefits, you will receive approximately $100.

(2) If you were not denied benefits, but believe that you were involuntarily enrolled in credit protection or that the benefits of credit protection were not as advertised, you will receive approximately $50.

These reward amounts may be more or less, depending on how many people file eligible claims.

The ONLY way to receive a cash payment from the Bank of America credit protection settlement is to submit a valid Claim Form either online at www.CreditProtectionSettlement.com or mailed to the Settlement Administrator postmarked no later than February 26, 2013.

Absolutely amazing! I recieved the notice about this settlement in the mail and did not worry about it as I don’t recall EVER signing up for this service. Over the last year I have only gone online to pay the monthly payment and I shredded my card as I am working on paying off my debt. Today I went online to schedule my next payment and what do I see, a charge for credit protection. I’m thinking for sure this must be a misstake so I call them up. They have been charging me since June 2010, that is over $1000 total. B of A’s practices are beyond bad!

I “thought’ that if we got really sick and became very disabled, I would be protected, medically I landed in a wheel chair with a myriad of spine issues, lung issues and auto immune issues like Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue.

I tried to explain just how sick I was, and They started Hanging up on me, placing me on an auto dialer of threats to pay, about every other day. not even a human person. I lost most of my incomethat paid my bill….what about the 11.00 a month I paid for years?

I filed four times for releif on my credit cards once when i purchased a new home, once when i was moving, twice when i became unemployed and even with the notification letter from the unemployment furnashed to them they wanted a statement from my former employer and as of this date never applied a cent of relief to my account.
this was a joke misrepensited by the bank to me.

i called them cuz i lost my job, but they did not respond at first, then I called to have them discontinue the charges since they did not help me, after some talking to the rep, he assured me that if I file again I would get some help. So I did, and still nothing. So again I called, and after some more talking to the rep, I finally was able to cancel, but they did not offer to refund any of the thousands of $$$ I paid for nothing.

50 to 100 dollars? I lost much more with this scam service from BofA and FIA.

    – They take automatically from my account thousands ($50 +/- monthly). But I never subscibe to the service.

    – When I was sick, the service never never respond and I lost my credit.

    – When I call to stop the service they never stopped, but still taking my, month after month.

    – But the most important, I lost the confidence in the financial institutions.

I have 90 years and my only earning is my Social Security – Sincerely, Isa Sanz
