Babyganics Bubble Bath Bacteria Recall Overview:

  • Who: Babyganics has voluntarily recalled two lots of its babyganics 20 oz. chamomile verbena bubble bath product.
  • Why: The recall was initiated after internal testing revealed a contamination of the bacterium Pluralibacter gergoviae
  • Where: The recalled product was sold to select retailers in the United States.

Babyganics has issued a voluntary recall for two lots of its babyganics 20 oz. chamomile verbena bubble bath product over concerns it is contaminated with the bacterium Pluralibacter gergoviae.

Babyganics says internal testing being conducted to test the shelf life of the bubble bath product incidentally revealed the bacteria contamination, according to a news release announcing the Babyganics recall.

The recalled product comes in a white plastic bottle containing a green lid and has a UPC code of 8 13277 01375 4 and a lot code of either Y314 or Y315 on the bottom of its packaging, according to the Babyganics recall.

Babyganics says the recalled bubble bath product was sold over the last two months to select U.S. retailers and has assured consumers that testing confirmed none of the other company’s products are contaminated with the bacteria.

Pluralibacter gergoviae, while not commonly associated with causing illness in healthy adults, can present a risk of infection to immunocompromised individuals or those with broken or irritated skin, according to the Babyganics recall.
