ASUS Transformer Prime Class Action Settlement
By Mike Holter

UPDATE: A federal judge granted final approval to the ASUS Class Action Settlement on July 15, 2013.
A California judge has preliminarily approved a $2.2 million class action lawsuit settlement that will provide cash payments of $17 to U.S. residents who purchased an ASUS Transformer Prime tablet. Class Members have until May 31, 2013 to file a claim.
The proposed ASUS Transformer Prime settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit (Fraser v. ASUS Computer International, et al.) alleging ASUS defectively designed the tablet with a metallic body that renders its GPS and Wifi capabilities useless.
ASUS denies any wrongdoing and claims it addressed the problem by offering a free Dongle to Transformer Prime owners to help improve GPS signal reception. After lengthy negotiations, however, ASUS has agreed to a $2.2 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.
Class Members of the ASUS class action settlement include all U.S. residents who purchased an ASUS Eee Pad TF201 Transformer Prime and did not receive a full refund.
Class Members who submit a valid Claim Form by the deadline of May 31, 2013 will be eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of $17 and a free Dongle if they have not already received one. ASUS will continue their free Dongle program until the expiration of the claims period..
A Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for July 11, 2013.

Finally got my payment yesterday!!
Same as Scott here. Any news on the payment or dongle?
Has anyone received payment yet?
I submit the claim form and they keep denying it. Any reasons why?
love the prime but the wifi signal is terrible. I sent the prime in for repair sighting the wifi issue and zero GPS signal. My prime was sent back and I received the Dongle. GPS still doesn’t work unless I’m using the google gps via wifi/internet. The wifi signal issue isn’t resolved either. I don’t think they even opened the unit up to look it. Still like the prime, just wish my issues were resolved.
Love the prime, great tablet and the keyboard addition makes it second to none! Don’t use the gps but the wifi has been sketchy and my boys ipad tears it up with the wifi signal there’s gets in the same places I am with just a bar or two! Hope the dongle helps!
never really use the gps but love Asus transformer prime and hope to see the Android 4.2.1 update soon
