The national unemployment rate, at 3.6%, remains the same as May and the same as June 2022.

“In June, 11 states had over-the-month unemployment rate decreases, the largest of which was in Maryland (-0.4 percentage point),” the release said. “Thirty-nine states and the District of Columbia had jobless rates that were not notably different from those of a month earlier, though some had changes that were at least as large numerically as the significant changes.”

Non-farm payroll employment remained unchanged in June in 43 states while rising in five states and lowering in two states. That same statistic rose in 41 states since June 2022 and remained nearly the same in nine states.
