(Jan. 30, 2023)
ZLINE has expanded its recall of 30-inch and 36-inch gas ranges to also include its 48-inch gas ranges, after consumers reported at least 44 incidents of carbon monoxide emission from the ovens.
The new recall was published to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website Jan. 26 and applies to ZLINE 30-inch, 36-inch and 48-inch RG gas ranges.
The latest recall brings the total number of recalled ranges to about 30,000, including the 28,000 ZLINE 30 and 36-inch gas ranges recalled in December 2022.
According to the recall, the oven of the gas ranges can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO) while in use, posing a “serious risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning.”
So far, the firm has received 44 reports of carbon monoxide emission, including three reports of consumers seeking medical attention.
The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Consumers should ‘immediately stop’ using ranges’ oven compartment, ZLINE says
Anyone who owns one of the recalled ranges should immediately stop using the oven compartment of the range until it is repaired, the company states.
Consumers may continue to use the range tops which are unaffected by the issue. Consumers can contact ZLINE to obtain a free in-home repair.
The gas ranges were sold from February 2019 through December 2022 for between $2,300 and $6,900.
The recalled products were sold at Best Buy, Lowe’s, The Home Depot, The Range Hood Store stores nationwide and online at bestbuy.com, build.com, costco.com, homedepot.com, therangehoodstore.com, overstock.com and wayfair.com.

We purchased the 48” version of this Zline stove and immediately had issues with the ovens (48” has one small and one large). We were sent after months of back and forth new elements and thermostats for both ovens, they set up a service and when the repair guy finally showed up (we live in the country so finding someone to even come out was a problem) he said he couldn’t work on it. I found someone to come and change out the elements and thermostats and we continued to have the same problems. The stove top has been fine but the ovens are a disaster. We have had nothing but problems and just like a previous poster our first Thanksgiving was a nightmare as well, fortunately we had our 22 year old Hotpoint glass top stove to save the day, it hasn’t ever missed a beat.
