Ford issues recall for Mustang Mach-E vehicles due to battery defect

Ford Motor Company announced a recall affecting 34,762 model year 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles due to safety concerns related to a battery component.ย

A specific battery part can potentially overheat, which could result in a loss of power, the recall states.

Ford says this problem is more likely to occur during direct current fast charging and repeated high-speed acceleration events, particularly in vehicles equipped with an extended-range battery.

Affected vehicle owners should bring their Mustang Mach-E vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for a free replacement of the problematic battery part, according to the recall notice. The recall notification process is scheduled to begin Oct. 30, with letters sent to owners from Oct. 30 to Nov. 10.

Kroger issues recall for collard greens due to potential listeria contamination

Kroger initiated a recall of a specific production run of 16-ounce bags of Kroger Collard Greens due to the presence of listeria.ย

The recalled bags, supplied by Baker Farms, have UPC code 11110-18171, a best-by date of Oct. 16, 2023, and production code 110093-387. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture detected listeria in the collard greens.ย

Listeria monocytogenes can lead to severe and even life-threatening infections, particularly in young children, the elderly or individuals with weakened immune systems. Even in healthy individuals, exposure to listeria can result in symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.ย

Kroger says it removed all affected products from store shelves, and customers should either dispose of them or return them to a Kroger store for a full refund.

Wegmans salad kits recalled due to undeclared egg

Braga Fresh issued a recall for Wegmans Organic Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kits, which come in 8-ounce bags, due to an incorrect condiments pack that contains undeclared egg. The affected salad kits have a UPC code of 0 77890 55911 6, a best-by date of Oct. 27, 2023, and lot no. BFFS282B4.

The undeclared egg in these salad kits could pose a significant risk to individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg, potentially leading to severe or life-threatening allergic reactions.

Braga Fresh has not received any reports of illnesses associated with this recall, and there are no pending legal actions against the company at this time. As a precaution, consumers should discard the affected salad kits and can receive a full refund by providing a valid Wegmans receipt.ย

Polaris recalls recreational off-road vehicles due to brake line defect

Polaris issued a recall affecting approximately 2,500 off-road vehicles due to an improperly routed brake line that may come into contact with the front wheels during vehicle operation. This contact can lead to brake line damage and a loss of brake function.ย

The recall includes Polarisโ€™ model year 2023 RZR PRO XP and PRO XP 4, as well as model year 2024 RZR XP and XP 4 recreational off-road vehicles.

Polaris says it initiated this recall after receiving three reports of incorrectly installed brake lines on the affected off-road vehicles, all of which resulted in a loss of brake function. One of these incidents involved an impact with a large rock.ย

As a precautionary measure, consumers should immediately cease using the recalled Polaris off-road vehicles and contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair, the recall notice states.ย

Tesla recalls Model X vehicles due to miscalibrated sensor

Tesla issued a recall for 54,676 of its 2021-2023 Model X vehicles due to a miscalibrated sensor responsible for alerting owners about low brake fluid levels.ย

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a notice specifying that around 98% of the affected model year vehicles are impacted by this issue, which can be resolved through a software update to recalibrate the sensor.

Tesla says the vehicles inaccurately indicate low brake fluid levels, which could potentially impact braking performance and increase the risk of a collision. Additionally, the Model X recall notes the low brake fluid level might also affect the feel of the braking system.ย

Tesla provided a software update to remedy the issue, the recall notice states. Drivers can implement the update via software release 2023.32.7 or any subsequent versions released after Sept. 28.ย
