Morgan Foods Skyline Chili Recall Overview:

  • Who: Morgan Foods is recalling about 1.1 tons of its Skyline chili.
  • Why: The cans labeled as chili may actually contain cream of chicken soup.
  • Where: The cans were shipped nationwide.

More than 1.1 tons of Skyline Chili are being recalled as the contents of the can may actually be cream of chicken soup.

In a recall announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Feb. 16, customers were urged not to consume lots of Skyline Chili Original Chili produced by Morgan Foods on Dec. 21, 2021.

“These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase,” the recall says.

The recall affects approximately 2,205 pounds of Skyline chili and comes due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, FSIS said.

“The product contains milk, wheat and soy, which are known allergens and are not declared on the product label,” the recall said. “The cans labeled as chili product may actually contain cream of chicken soup.”

Skyline Chili Consumers Discovered Issue

The problem was discovered by consumers who reported to the company that the cans labeled as chili contained cream of chicken soup.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products so far, but anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider, the FSIS said.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

The product subject to recall can be identified by the establishment number “EST. 6806” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase,” the FSIS said.

Meanwhile, Dyla LLC is facing a class action lawsuit alleging it misleads consumers by selling Snapple brand diet peach tea powdered drink mix falsely labeled as containing only natural flavors.
