The company says in the recall notice that people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. No related illnesses or incidents have been reported to date, it adds.

The packages have either a blue or yellow tie closure and a “Best If Used By” date of 12/26/2021.

Flowers Foods, Inc. is urging customers to discard the bread or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone with questions can call Flowers’ Consumer Relations Center at 1-866-245-8921.

The products include Chocolate, Creme-Filled Chocolate and Buttercream Iced Creme-Filled Chocolate, which were shipped to retailers in New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

The company is also facing a class action lawsuit filed by delivery drivers who allege it illegally underpaid them by denying them overtime, meal and rest breaks.
