Children’s Robes recall Overview:
- Who: HulovoX is recalling 3,500 children’s robes sold on Amazon between January and May last year.
- What: The robes are being recalled because they do not meet federal flammability standards and pose a risk of burn injuries to children.
- Where: The recall is nationwide.
Around 3,500 multicolored children’s robes that are sold on Amazon are being recalled due to posing a risk of burn injuries to children.
In a recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, HulovoX, the company that makes the micro polyester robes, says that the clothing fails to meet federal flammability standards.
The robes were sold in 22 multicolored tie-dye and rainbow colorways in sizes 3T through 12. They have a sewn-in side seam belt and internal button closure. Some have a hood with unicorn décor features such as a mane, ears and horn, the recall notice explains. The sewn-in neck label states the fiber content, washing instructions and “Made in China.” The sewn-in side seam label states the garment’s size.
No Incidents, Injuries Reported In Relation To Robes
The company says that no incidents or injuries have been reported in relation to the robes, but it is urging consumers to take the recalled robes away from children and stop using them.
“Consumers who purchased the garments from Amazon.com will be contacted through Amazon’s messaging platform and provided prepaid mailers to return the products for a refund,” HulovoX says.
Consumers can also contact HulovoX to request a postage prepaid mailer to return the products for a full refund.
The robes were sold online at Amazon.com from January 2021 through May 2021 for about $30.
This isn’t the first time children’s robes sold on Amazon have been recalled due to violating flammability standards. In July 2021, more than 10,000 kids’ sleepwear items sold exclusively on Amazon were recalled for failing to meet federal flammability standards and posing a burn hazard.
The recalled Amazon kids’ sleepwear included a robe and two nightgowns. In three separate recall notices, the Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that because the products do not meet federal standards, they increase the risk of burn injuries to children in the event of a fire.
