Polaris, Bobcat, Gravely recall vehicles, accessories due to fire hazard

Polaris, Bobcat and Gravely recalled more than 12,300 utility vehicles and accessories as they may have a fuel leak issue, posing a fire hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website published the recall Aug. 10. 

It applies to about 12,300 Polaris off-road vehicles and Bobcat and Gravely utility vehicles, as well as fuel pump kits and fuel tank assemblies, sold in the United States and about 517 sold in Canada. Consumers can find the specific model years and VIN numbers of the recalled products here. 

According to the recall, a fuel leak can occur at the fuel pump outlet connector on the fuel tank near a hot surface, posing a fire hazard. Polaris received three reports of fuel leaks so far, it says. No fires or injuries have been reported.

The companies are not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Immediately stop using recalled vehicles, Polaris, Gravely, Bobcat recall states

Polaris, Gravely and Bobcat sold the recalled vehicles at dealers nationwide from March 2021 through Dec. 2022 for about $13,300 to $37,700. 

The companies sold the recalled fuel pump kits and fuel tank assemblies online at polaris.com and bobcat.com and through authorized dealers for about $370 to $1,060.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact Polaris or an authorized Polaris, Gravely or Bobcat dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair, the recall states. The dealer will replace the fuel pump or fuel tank, depending on the vehicle type, free of charge. 

“Polaris, Gravely and Bobcat have notified consumers to stop riding the vehicles and are notifying all dealers and registered owners about this recall and free repair,” the recall states. 

Polaris recalled several other vehicles this year. In June, the company recalled more than 20,000 RZR Pro XP and Turbo R recreational off-road vehicles, and, in March, it recalled all of its Sportsman All-Terrain Vehicles.
