  • Who: Mars Petcare US issued a voluntary recall for 315 bags of PEDIGREEĀ® Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food.
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the dog food may have been contaminated with loose metal pieces.Ā 
  • Where: The recalled dog food was sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.Ā 

Mars Petcare US issued a recall for 315 bags of PEDIGREEĀ® Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food over worries the product may have been contaminated with loose metal pieces.Ā 

The recall involves PEDIGREEĀ® Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food in 44 lb. bags with a lot code of 410B2TXT02 and best by date of March 4, 2025, and sold by Walmart in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.Ā 

Mars Petcare advised consumers to stop using the product and to monitor the behavior of pets who may have consumed the recalled product and to contact a veterinarian ā€œin the event of any concerns.ā€Ā 

ā€œThe potential presence of loose metal pieces in the bag could pose a health hazard to pets,ā€ the Pedigree dog food recall says.Ā 

No pet injuries or illnesses connected to Pedigree dog food recall

Mars Petcare said there have been no reports of pet injury or illness connected to the recall and that no other Pedigree or Mars Petcare products are affected or being recalled.Ā

Mid America Pet Food expanded a voluntary recall in November 2023 to include additional dog and cat food products that may have been contaminated with salmonella.Ā

    I bought pedigree for my dog, the 1st week I notice his poop was different I thought probably from changing the food.. so I kept watching him, the second week he started developing a rash so I stop feeding him Pedigree and went back to his regular food.

      I lost 6 pocket bully pups and their mom Iā€™ve contacted mars over this they had a vet tech contact me about the dogs no response since then I ran a metal detector over bag it does detect metal my order was 2 weeks late from distributor but still have bag of dog food here mars has made no attempts to widen this recall my dog died in a pool of blood over this dog food
