Nestle recall announced for edible chocolate chip cookie dough due to plastic contamination

Nestlé USA has recalled some of its Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough tubs from Nestlé Toll House as the dough may contain plastic film.

The recall was announced Nov. 3 on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website.

The recall applies to three batches of Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough tubs from Nestlé Toll House that were produced Aug. 1 to 3, 2022. 

The recall was initiated after a number of consumers contacted Nestle USA about there being soft plastic film in the chocolate chip cookie dough. No illness or injuries have been reported so far in regards to the recall, the company said.

The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Consumers can return Nestle edible chocolate chip cookie dough for refund

The recalled cookie dough products were distributed to retailers nationwide, the recall says. The batch codes of the recalled cookie dough are 22135554RR, 22145554RR and 22155554RR.

Consumers who may have purchased these three batch codes of chocolate chip cookie dough should not consume the product and should return the product to the retailer where it was purchased for a replacement or refund.

On Oct. 14 Nestle recalled batches of its ready-to-bake refrigerated Nestle Toll House Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling due to the “potential presence of white plastic pieces.” 

“Following each instance, we took immediate action to address the specific issue,” the company said. 

“We work closely with our suppliers and factory teams to ensure that our products are safe and meet the expectations of our consumers.”
