Helly Hansen recall overview:Â
- Who: Helly Hansen recalled 12 styles of its adult workwear sweatshirts and hoodies.
- Why: The shirts violate federal flammability standards.
- Where: The recall is active in the United States and Canada.
Helly Hansen has issued a recall of 12 styles of its adult workwear sweatshirts and hoodies as the tops violate federal flammability standards.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website published the recall March 2. It applies to a dozen styles of Helly Hansen adult workwear sweatshirts and hoodies sold in all sizes in gray, navy and black with certain style numbers.Â
According to the Helly Hansen recall, the tops fail to meet flammability standards for clothing textiles, posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers.
About 13,900 Helly Hansen tops were sold in the United States and about 128,680 were sold in Canada.
Consumers should immediately stop wearing the products, Helly Hansen recall says
The recalled products were sold at Helly Hansen clothing stores and uniform clothing suppliers nationwide and online at hhworkwear.com from August 2019 through August 2022 for between $40 to $115.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled garments and contact Helly Hansen for a full refund or replacement, the company says.
Helly Hansen will provide a full refund or a credit toward the purchase of a free replacement item upon submission of a photograph of the garment cut in half by email to highpri.support.na@hellyhansen.com.
No incidents have been reported so far in regards to the clothing items, the Helly Hansen recall states. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
In 2022, Authentic Brands Group was hit with a class action lawsuit alleging it misleads consumers about the actual amount of Supima cotton in its Brooks Brothers white Fitted Non-Iron Stretch Supima Cotton Dress Shirts.Â
