Stellantis, GM, Tesla, Chrysler and Honda issued auto recalls in late November and December.
The automakers initiated the recalls over concerns involving rearview camera images, vehicle noise, tire pressure, hydraulic control units and a potential fuel leak.
An automaker may choose to initiate a recall if it determines a vehicle contains a defect that could endanger drivers, passengers and/or others on the roadway.
Stellantis recalls Jeep vehicles over rearview camera display failures
Stellantis issued a recall for nearly 80,000 Jeep vehicles in December over concerns their rearview camera images may fail to display.
The Jeep recall involves certain model year 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L vehicles.
Stellantis says an issue with the software in the rearview camera module can cause the image to fail to display, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the recall notice.
The automaker also says it plans to remedy the issue by having its dealers update the rearview camera module software on the recalled Jeep vehicles free of charge.
GM recalls 7K+ 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EVs over low sound
GM issued a recall for more than 7,600 model year 2025 Chevrolet Equinox electric vehicles last month over concerns they may not make a sound loud enough to properly alert pedestrians to the vehicles’ approach.
The recall involves certain model year 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EVs produced between Aug. 13, 2024, and Oct. 16, 2024.
GM says the Chevrolet Equinox EVs fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for the minimum sound requirements for hybrid and electric vehicles, the recall notice states.
The automaker says it plans to remedy the issue by having its dealers update the software calibration in the body control module of the recalled Chevrolet Equinox EVs at no cost to vehicle owners.
Tesla recalls vehicles over low tire pressure warning failure
Tesla issued a recall for Cybertruck, Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in December over concerns their tire pressure lights may not work correctly, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall involves nearly 700,000 model year 2024 Tesla Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3 and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles.
Drivers of the recalled Tesla vehicles may not receive a low tire pressure warning due to the tire pressure monitoring warning light failing to stay on between drive cycles, according to the recall.
Tesla says it remedied the recall issue with an over-the-air software update at no cost to vehicle owners.
300K+ Ram pickup trucks recalled over hydraulic control units
Chrysler issued a recall for more than 300,000 Ram pickup trucks in November over concerns their hydraulic control unit could fail, leading to a loss of antilock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control.
The recall involves more than 317,000 model year 2017-2018 Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 3500 <10k Lb. Cab Chassis, Ram 2500 Pickup and Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis pickup trucks.
The automaker says a failure of the hydraulic control units in the recalled Ram vehicles could increase the risk of a crash, the recall notice states.
Chrysler says it plans to remedy the issue by having its dealers replace the brake hydraulic control unit in the recalled Ram pickup trucks free of charge.
Honda recalls 200K+ Passport, Pilot vehicles over fuel leak concerns
Honda issued a recall for more than 200,000 Honda Passport and Honda Pilot vehicles in late November over concerns their fuel filler neck tube and pipe could separate, causing a fuel leak.
The recall involves 205,760 model year 2023-2024 Honda Passport vehicles and model year 2023-2025 Honda Pilot vehicles.
Honda says the fuel leak is a potential fire risk and it plans to remedy the issue by having dealers repair the vehicles’ fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe as necessary, according to the recall notice.
