BJ’s Wholesale Club issued a tiki torches recall this week due to a burn hazard.
The recall involves around 90,000 Berkley Jensen Citronella 72-inch Tiki Torches sold with either a black, gray, copper-plated or nickel-plated torch top with a fiberglass wick.
BJ’s issued the tiki torches recall over concerns the top of the tiki torch can break open and/or fall off while the product is lit, posing a burn hazard.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled tiki torches and dispose, destroy or return them to BJ’s to receive a full refund.
BJ’s said it has received nine reports of the tops of the recalled tiki torches breaking open and/or falling off, resulting in a total of two burn injuries.
Recalled BJ’s tiki torches sold exclusively at BJ’s Wholesale Club locations nationwide
The recalled tiki torches were sold exclusively at BJ’s locations nationwide for around $13 between January 2015 and November 2023, according to the BJ’s recall.

A consumer filed a class action lawsuit against BJ’s in August 2022 over claims the company sold “Non-Drowsy” daytime cold and flu medication that contains an active ingredient that is known to cause drowsiness.
