All lots of various dietary supplements are being recalled nationwide by manufacturer Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals over concerns that the products contain allergens not listed on the labels.
The Georgia supplement maker is recalling all lots of APS Nutrition Isomorph in all 28 flavors and all lots of iForce Nutrition Mass Gainz Brown Sugar Maple Oatmeal Cookie in 4.85-pound jugs and 10-pound bags. The recalled APS Nutrition products contain undeclared milk, wheat, and soy. The iForce Nutrition Mass Gainz Brown Sugar Maple Oatmeal Cookie products contain undeclared eggs.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to specific type of allergen (milk, eggs, wheat & soy) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” says the Hi-Tech’s recall announcement, which also states that the recalled supplements were sold online, at retail locations, and using third party distribution throughout the US.
The company says that consumers should return the recalled supplements to where they bought them for a full refund.
Hi-Tech says in its recall announcement that the discovery of milk, eggs, wheat, and soy in products that were not labeled with the potential allergens prompted an investigation. The investigation revealed an oversight in the label design prior to printing, prompting the recall of the mislabeled products.
The recalled APS Isomorph products come in a variety of flavors, such as Banana Cream Pie, Fudge Pop, Milkshake, Cookies N Cream, Orange Creamsicle, and Honey Granola. The recalled supplements come in 1-pound, 2-pound, and 5-pound jugs and have expiration dates ranging up to October of 2021.
The iForce Nutrition Mass Gainz Brown Sugar Maple Oatmeal Cookie product comes in 4.8-pound and 10-pound sizes. The recalled supplements have expiration dates of January of 2024 or September of 2021.
