A number of class action settlements opened in August for consumers to make claims for rebates through the month of September and beyond. 

The class action settlements resolve claims related to product defects, delivery fees, chemical contaminants and false advertising, among other things. 

A company may agree to settle a class action lawsuit as a way to avoid litigation and garner good faith amongst its customers without admitting to any liability or wrongdoing. 

Consumers can browse the list below to see if a recently opened class action settlement applies to them or look through Top Class Actions’ open settlement page to find additional class action rebates. 

Lenovo settles claims it misled consumers into purchasing laptops with defective displays

Lenovo agreed to a class action settlement that ends claims the electronics company misled its customers into purchasing laptop computers with a display defect. 

The settlement benefits a class of consumers who purchased certain Lenovo brand laptops with displays that flickered, froze, blacked out or experienced a nonphysical breakage during ordinary use. 

Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 3, 2024. 

Church & Dwight pays $2.5M to end claims Batiste dry shampoo contain benzene

Church & Dwight agreed to pay $2.5 million to resolve claims its Batiste brand dry shampoo products are contaminated with the cancer-causing chemical benzene

The settlement was made to benefit a class of consumers who purchased at least one Batiste dry shampoo product prior to May 30, 2023. 

Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 15 to qualify to make a claim to join the class action settlement. 

Panda Express to pay $1.4M to end claims it charged illegal service fees on delivery orders

Fast food restaurant chain Panda Express agreed to pay $1.4 million to end claims the company charged illegal service fees for delivery orders. 

The settlement will benefit a class of consumers who were charged a service fee while placing a delivery order through the Panda Express mobile app or website between July 17, 2020, and Feb. 16, 2022. 

Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 10, 2024. 

Dole agrees to pay $4.3M+ over claims it falsely advertised fruit cups contained 100% juice

Dole agreed to pay more than $4.3 million to resolve claims the fruit and veggie producer falsely advertised its fruit cup products contain 100% juice.

The settlement will benefit a class of consumers who purchased a variety of different Dole fruit cups labeled with either “in 100% juice” or “in 100% fruit juice” from between Jan. 12, 2017, and June 27, 2023. 

Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 25, 2023, to qualify to make a claim to join the class action settlement. 

Aterian to pay $800K over claims Mueller kitchen products not actually made in Austria 

Aterian agreed to pay $800,000 to end claims its Mueller brand kitchen products are falsely advertised as made in Austria

The settlement was made to benefit a class of consumers who purchased a variety of different Mueller kitchen products between Dec. 9, 2018, and Aug. 23, 2023. 

Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 30, 2024. 

Toyota to pay $78.5M to end claims it equipped vehicles with defective airbag control units

Toyota agreed to pay $78.5 million to resolve claims it equipped vehicles with airbag control units that were defective and could malfunction during an accident. 

The settlement will benefit a class of current and former owners and lessees of several different Toyota vehicles, including model year 2011-2019 Toyota Corolla and 2012-2018 Toyota Avalon models, among others. 

Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 16, 2026, to qualify to make a claim to join the class action settlement. 

CVS to pay $3.8M over claims it falsely advertised lidocaine products as ‘maximum strength’

CVS agreed to pay $3.8 million to put an end to claims the retailer falsely advertised its lidocaine products as “maximum strength.” 

The settlement benefits a class of consumers who purchased CVS-branded lidocaine patches, creams, roll-ons and spray products marketed as “maximum strength.” 

Individuals who want to make a claim to join the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 20, 2023. 

Curaleaf to pay $100K to end claims it sold CBD drops that also contained THC

Curaleaf agreed to pay $100,000 to resolve claims the medical and recreational cannabis dispensary sold drops containing THC that were marketed as only containing CBD

The settlement was made to benefit an Oregon class of consumers who purchased allegedly mislabeled Curaleaf Select CBD Drops after June 19, 2021. 

Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 27, 2023, to qualify to make a claim to join the class action settlement. 

DreamCloud settlement ends claims it falsely advertised mattresses as made from US materials

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) began accepting claims last month for a DreamCloud class action settlement agreement that ends claims it falsely advertised its mattresses are made from U.S. materials. 

Consumers who purchased a mattress from the DreamCloud website between Dec. 9, 2018, and Jan. 29, 2019, or May 6, 2020, and June 26, 2020, and who were influenced to make a purchase by the alleged false advertising, are eligible to receive a refund. 

Individuals who want to make a claim to get a refund from the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 23, 2023. 

Vivint to pay $20M to end FTC claims it misused consumer credit reports

Consumers can file a claim to receive a refund from a $20 million settlement between the FTC and Vivint, over the latter’s alleged misuse of consumer credit reports

The settlement was made to benefit a class of consumers who had a Vivint account opened in their name from between 2016 and 2019 despite never signing up for security and monitoring services with the company. 

Consumers must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 9, 2023, to qualify to make a claim to join the class action settlement.
