A number of class action settlements opened in September for consumers to make claims for rebates through October and beyond. 

The class action settlements resolve claims related to vehicle engine failure, overdraft fees, data sharing, recyclability representations and a data breach, among other things. 

A company may agree to a class action settlement as a way to avoid litigation and garner good faith among consumers without admitting to any liability or fault. 

Consumers can scan the list below to see if any of the recently opened class action settlements apply to them or browse Top Class Actions’ open settlement page to find additional class action rebates. 

Class action settlement ends claims Kia sold certain vehicles with engine defects

Kia agreed to a class action settlement that resolves claims the automaker sold certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles containing engine defects

The class action settlement will benefit owners and lessees of certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles that suffer from a defect related to the engine’s connecting rod bearing. 

Vehicle owners who want to wish to make a claim in the class action settlement must do so by Dec. 7, 2023. 

Reynolds to pay $3M to end claims it falsely represented bags as recyclable 

Reynolds agreed to pay $3 million to put to bed claims the company falsely represented that its Hefty and Great Value recycling bags are recyclable

The class action settlement will benefit a class of consumers who purchased Great Value and/or Hefty recycling bags between July 20, 2018, and Aug. 30, 2023. 

Consumers have until Dec. 13, 2023, to submit a valid claim form.

Indivior to pay $30M to end claims it worked with others to raise Suboxone price

Pharmaceutical company Indivior has agreed to pay $30 million to resolve claims it worked with other companies to raise the price of Suboxone, a drug used to treat opioid addiction. 

The class action settlement will benefit a class of individuals or entities hailing from a number of areas within the U.S. and its territories who either paid for or indirectly purchased Suboxone and its AB-rated generic equivalent. 

Individuals who want to submit a claim in the class action settlement must do so by Feb. 17, 2024. 

FTC, Epic Games reach $245M settlement over claims company tricked young Fortnite users 

Epic Games reached a $245 million settlement agreement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to end claims it tricked underage Fortnite players into making large purchases. 

The settlement will benefit individuals who, between January 2017 and September 2022, were charged in-game currency by Epic Games for Fortnite items they did not want.  

The agreement will also benefit a class of individuals whose children used their parents’ credit cards without their knowledge to make purchases through Epic Games between January 2017 and November 2018. 

Finally, the settlement agreement will benefit individuals who had their accounts locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after they complained to their credit card companies about the charges through Epic Games. 

Class members must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 27, 2024, to be eligible to receive a payment.

Centris Federal Credit Union to pay $1.2M to end claims it charged illegal bank fees

Centris Federal Credit Union has agreed to pay $1.2 million to put to bed claims it charged its customers illegal bank fees, including overdraft fees, non-sufficient fund fees and returned item fees. 

The class action settlement will benefit a class of Centris account holders who were charged an overdraft fee, non-sufficient fund fee or returned item fee between June 15, 2017, and April 30, 2022. 

All eligible class members who do not choose to exclude themselves will automatically receive a settlement payment. 

FCA settles claims it sold defective Jeep vehicles that had to be recalled

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has agreed to a class action settlement that puts an end to claims the automaker manufactured and sold Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles containing defects that ultimately caused them to be recalled

The class action settlement will benefit a class of consumers who purchased or leased a model year 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler or 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicle. 

Class members must submit a valid claim in order to benefit from the settlement. There is no deadline to do so. 

Cash Express to pay $850,000 after 2022 cyberattack led to data breach

Financial services company Cash Express has agreed to pay $850,000 to put an end to claims revolving around a data breach that occurred following a cyberattack on its network. 

The class action settlement was made to benefit a nationwide class of individuals whose private information may have been compromised due to a cyberattack against Cash Express between Jan. 29 and Feb. 6, 2022. 

Individuals who wish to benefit from the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 1, 2023.

Military.com operator to pay $7.35M to end claims Facebook Pixel violated user privacy

Military Advantage, the operator of Military.com, has agreed to pay $7.35 million to end claims it violated the privacy rights of its users by allegedly using the Facebook Pixel to track their movements

The class action settlement will benefit Military.com users who have a Facebook account and who, at any time between June 8, 2020, and Nov. 1, 2022, looked at a video on Military.com using the same browser they had used to access Facebook. 

Class members must submit a valid claim form no later than Oct. 24, 2023, in order to benefit from the class action settlement.

Ethos Technologies to pay $1M to resolve claims it failed to prevent 2022 data breach 

Ethos Technologies agreed to pay $1 million to resolve claims the company failed to prevent a 2022 data breach that compromised the sensitive information of consumers. 

The class action settlement will benefit a class of consumers who received a notification letter that their information may have been compromised between August and December 2022 during the Ethos Technologies data breach.

Individuals who want to benefit from the class action settlement must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 20, 2023.

LinkedIn agrees to pay $6.75M to end claims it mismanaged its 401(k) retirement plan

LinkedIn has agreed to pay $6.75 million to resolve claims the company violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by allegedly mismanaging its 401(k) retirement plan. 

The class action settlement will benefit a class of participants, beneficiaries and alternate payees, who, between Aug. 14, 2014, and July 1, 2020, participated in the LinkedIn Corp. 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan and Trust. 

Class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 10, 2023, to benefit from the settlement.

    I have a 2021 jeep gladiator ecodiesel built in 2020 , purchased in November 2020 hfpf recall sitting in dealer going on two months, May have to rent car because no loaner provided since I’m over warranty. Still paying lease, paid over $300.00 for towing all thanks to recall parts not being in for over a year since the recall has came out.
