U.S. consumers who purchased certain Welch’s juice products may be eligible to claim up to $12 without proof of purchase from a $1.5 million class action settlement resolving claims the company made misleading claims about the products.

The Class is made up of everyone who, between March 23, 2016, and Oct. 1, 2021, purchased one of the following products in the United States for household use and not for resale or distribution:

  • Welch’s 100% Grape Juice Concord Grape
  • Welch’s 100% Juice Red Sangria
  • Welch’s 100% Black Cherry Concord Grape Juice

Plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit allege Welch’s misleadingly labeled these juice products with claims that they help support a healthy heart.

The company denies all accusations of wrongdoing and has asserted various defenses that it believes are meritorious, but has agreed to the Settlement.

Welch’s juice and other Welch’s products are available at retailers such as Target, CVS, and Walmart, among others, according to the company’s website.

The Welch’s juice Settlement provides Class Members with injunctive and monetary relief.

Class Members who submit a valid and timely claim without proof of purchase will receive a payment of $1 per product, based on the number of covered products purchased during the Class Period up to a maximum of 12 products, for a total possible payment of $12.

There is no limit on the amount of products a person can claim if they provide proof of purchase.

The actual amount may be adjusted up or down depending on whether the total value of all claims is more or less than the settlement fund after attorneys’ fees and other expenses are deducted.

A final hearing in the Welch’s juice Settlement is scheduled to take place April 15, 2022.

The deadline for Class Members to exclude themselves from the Settlement is March 7, 2022.

Claim Forms must be submitted no later than March 7, 2022.
