man using just for men hair dyeA group of guys who used Just for Men hair dye have filed a class action lawsuit against the product’s makers saying that they suffered permanent skin discoloration.

Louisiana resident Ray Du Boc Ali states that he experienced rashes and burns on his face after using the Just for Men beard and mustache dye.

Allegedly, he also suffered permanent skin discoloration from the product because it contained harsh chemicals.

Du Boc Ali states that the beard and mustache dye contains p-phenylenediamine, or PPD, a known irritant. Allegedly, it is a “coal tar dye,” meaning it is made from petroleum.

The Just For Men class action lawsuit states that the instructions for use of the product informs users to conduct a “patch test” on a small area of skin before using the product on the entirety of a beard or mustache, to test for possible allergies or negative reactions to the ingredients in the product.

However, the test patch exposes users to risk and is dangerous because it reportedly does not meet regulations for such tests set forth by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

Allegedly, typical patch tests are conducted with the testing area covered, but in contrast, Combe Inc. instructs Just For Men users to leave the area uncovered for at least 48 hours. Du Boc Ali says that this technique is flawed because it allows the test patch to become contaminated.

The Just For Men skin irritant class action lawsuit argues that the test is flawed because though the product contains a harsh, irritating chemical, the patch test is conducted by users with no training in understanding the results of the test. Additionally, the company allegedly does not tell users to contact their doctors about the patch test.

The Just For Men class action lawsuit goes on to assert that the instructions do not tell users how much product to apply, so customers may end up exposing themselves to much higher amounts of PPD than they would have been exposed to had the test been properly controlled.

Allegedly, this can result in skin irritation, rashes, and burning. In the case of Du Boc Ali, this allegedly resulted in him developing permanent skin discoloration.

According to the Just For Men beard and mustache dye class action lawsuit, the Just For Men patch test “is an unregulated, uncontrolled, open, random experiment requiring self-administration of strong allergens by untrained consumers for diagnostic purposes.”

The Just For Men allergen class action lawsuit asserts that the dye does not include a disclaimer warning users of risks of burns and discoloration. Allegedly, such a warning is required by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

The men are represented by Shane C. Fulton, Janet G. Abaray and Kenneth M. Daly of Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine PC.

The Just For Men Dye Irritant Class Action Lawsuit is Du Boc Ali, et al. v. Combe Inc., et al., Case No. 7:19-cv-06187, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

I suffered from the effects of this product and I went to doctor and they couldn’t and got medicine described for the pain and healing of the pussy and bleeding coming from my face which didn’t work at the time so pain was excruciating that I had to withstand on my own. I didn’t know what was wrong with me and thought I was actually dying as I witnessed my face look as if it were melting in front of my eyes. It hurt me everytime I had to face my daughters and them having to see me in those conditions and remembered the fear in their faces all the days and nights they would watch me unwrap and replace the blood and puss filled wraps from my face…and not having the answers for them when they asked what was wrong with me. And remember how heartbroken I felt all those nights when I couldn’t even give my girls a kiss at night before bed because I didn’t want the sights of me and my face scaring my baby girls or give them nightmares because they didn’t know what was actually going on with me and just thought what once was thier Father slowly turn into a monster. It’s was torture and heart wrenching all at the same time to the point i wanted to end it all and just die. I thank God for the strength he gave to me 2 want to live on and fight to survive. The Physical scars I can get over in time. But those scars I suffered mentally….are scars that have no cure and that time could never heal….scars that resurface thru out life just to remind me of times and what it felt like to be so hurt and so helpless ….in so much pain. That dying crossed my mind so much…i don’t know how I survived thru those times.

I’ve been using these products for 15 years and continue to use them, never had a problem and seriously doubt I ever will as I am not a useless POS. So, to all of you lowlife leaches out there hoping to get in on the “make a quick buck” scam, especially the F’tard attorneys whose only contribution to mankind is trying to fleece company’s – you are all completely worthless human beings but I don’t need to tell you that, deep down, you know it, you sure can’t hide from it…

I also used Just For Men beard coloring back in Nov. 2019, it worked great every 2 weeks or so. In January 2020 I bought some more and OMG, that same night I thought my face was on fire, my face started itching like crazy and the next thing I know my face started oozing out puss and blood for the next two days. I had so much pain I could not sleep for three nights straight. I took Benadryl like crazy, 2 pills every 2 hours for days. The pain was so bad I bought and started taking Excedrin Extra Strength every 3 to 4 hours for days. This product needs to be taken off-market. Please warn other guys to just leave your beard to natural color. I will never die my hair again. Please add me to the class action lawsuit. Mike Matheny Coronado, CA
