A woman looks at a hair dryer.According to consumer reports, the Conair Infiniti Pro hair dryer may be defective and have the potential to injure consumers. Consumers who own one of the affected Conair hair dryers may be eligible to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer for breach of warranty if impacted.

Breach of Warranty Definition

Breach of warranty means that the manufacturer or seller of a product has failed to fulfill the terms of a claim or representation made about the product. Sellers are only allowed to make claims about products that are true.

Although the Conair Infiniti Pro Hair Styler comes with a “safety plug” that is meant to prevent the hair dryers from sparking or catching fire, consumers who have used the product claim that the plug may malfunction. This defect may entitle consumers who have bought or been harmed by the hair dryer to sue Conair for breach of warranty.

Conair Hair Dryer Recall

The Conair Infiniti Pro was initially recalled in 2013 due to consumer reports that the safety plug may malfunction and result in burns to their hands and arms. In 2016, Conair settled a hair dryer class action for over $5 million.

Several consumers have recently reported hearing a loud popping sound before sparks or flames were emitted. Other consumers have reported their Conair hair dryers catching fire or electrocuting them. Sparks caused by malfunctioning hair dryers may cause burns, fires, property damage, or other adverse consequences. At least 19 incidents of hair dryer malfunction were reported to Conair, including at least three burns that required medical attention.

Although the Conair Infiniti Pro hair dryer was recalled several years ago, some consumers may still be using models that could be prone to malfunctioning. According to the recall, approximately 570,000 hair dryers may be affected by the potentially dangerous defect. These hair dryers would have been sold at beauty stores, drug stores, department stores, and online between approximately August 2010 to August 2013.

Consumers who are concerned that they may be in possession of one of the defective hair dryers may be able to check their product against the model numbers listed on Conair’s recall web page.

How to File a Breach of Warranty Claim

Consumers who have been harmed by unsafe Conair hair dryers may be eligible to file a class action lawsuit against the company for breach of warranty. The first step in filing a breach of warranty claim is to speak to an experienced breach of warranty attorney. An experienced lawyer may be able to review your claims and determine whether you qualify to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer.

Consumers may also find it helpful to include documentation in their breach of warranty claim. By including the packaging or labeling that contains claims about the safety of the product, victims of defective Conair hair dryers may be able to bolster their claims.

Damages for Breach of Warranty

Warranties are in place to protect consumers from defective products. Consumers who sue for breach of warranty may be able to collect financial compensation and damages. These damages may include replacement or reimbursement for the defective product, as well as financial compensation for injuries, suffering, or medical expenses related to the defective product.

Conair Infiniti Pro Hair Dryer. I purchased The thing arched and sparked, so I threw it away. I did not save receipt or the box. Just not enough room to save everything. I am just lucky that I had laid it now on the counter before I plugged it in and turned it on.
