Grande Cosmetics & Class Action Lawsuit

Grande Cosmetics Enhancement Serum Class Action Lawsuit Overview:

  • Who: Genna Ribak filed a class action lawsuit against Grande Cosmetics, LLC.
  • Why: Ribak claims Grande Cosmetics sells enhancement serums containing isopropyl cloprostenate and mislabel them as cosmetics.
  • Where: The class action lawsuit was filed in California federal court.

Grande Cosmetics sells enhancement serums that are mislabeled as cosmetics and contain an active ingredient which can cause potentially serious side effects, a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Plaintiff Genna Ribak claims Grande Cosmetics Enhancement Serums for eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair contain isopropyl cloprostenate (ICP), which can cause eye discoloration, and should be labeled as drugs.

Ribak wants to represent a Class of California consumers who have purchased a Grande Cosmetics Enhancement Serum for personal, family, or household use.

Grande Cosmetics conceals from consumers that its enhancement serum’s contain ICP, while misrepresenting that they are both legal for sale and recognized as safe, the class action lawsuit alleges.

“Grande Cosmetics actively conceals material facts and leads reasonable consumers to believe they are purchasing Products whose sale does not violate federal and/or state law,” the class action lawsuit states.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has concluded that ICP — also found in prescription eyelash growth drugs such as Latisse — is unsafe to be used without the supervision of a licensed physician, according to the class action lawsuit.

Ribak says she was unaware the Grande Cosmetics Enhancement Serum she purchased contained any ingredients that could be associated with serious and undisclosed side effects.

Grande Cosmetics, further, violated California’s Health and Safety Code by labeling their enhancement serums as cosmetics when they are actually drugs, alleges the class action lawsuit.

Ribak claims Grande Cosmetics should have completed a new drug application in order to stay in compliance with California law.

“The presence of ICP standing alone sufficiently demonstrate that the Enhancement Serums are new drugs,” the class action lawsuit states.

The fact that the Grande Enhancement Serums retail for a higher price than average cosmetics and take longer to work are further proof that they should be classified as prescription drugs, Ribak said.

Ribak claims Grande Cosmetics is in violation of California’s Unfair Competition Law, False Advertising Law, and Consumers Legal Remedies Act

Ribak is demanding a jury trial and requesting restitution and/or other equitable relief for herself and all Class Members.

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Notre Dame revealed that more than half of all the cosmetics sold in the US and Canada contain dangerous toxins

  1. Elvira Schrader says:

Since May 2022, I have been coping with severe eye problems which have significantly impacted my quality of life. Despite having used multiple prescribed medications, my eyes remain swollen and I continue to endure excruciating pain. Regrettably, these medical treatments have required substantial out-of-pocket expenses, leaving me burdened with outstanding bills.

The detrimental effects on my eyesight have been profound. I now require eyeglasses for both eyes, as the swelling and subsequent vision issues have necessitated the replacement of my previous pair. Previously having perfect vision of 20/20, the use of Grande Lash MD resulted in the deterioration of my eyesight, preventing me from participating in social gatherings due to the grotesque unsightly pustules on the eyelids and hindering my overall daily activities.
May I please join your lawsuit.
    Thank you

Irreversible black circles under my eyes that make me look like I got punched, months after stopping use of this serum.

I have been using grande lash for about a year and just went to eye Dr and I have severe dry eye.
