Jeep recall overview:

  • Who: Stellantis North America issued a recall for 32,863 model year 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and model year 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles.
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the Jeep vehicles contain instrument panel clusters that can short circuit and fail, preventing “critical safety information” from being displayed.
  • Where: The recall affects certain Jeep vehicle owners nationwide.

Stellantis North America is recalling more than 30,000 of its model year 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and model year 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles over concerns their instrument panels may fail.

The automaker said the instrument panels on the recalled Jeep vehicles could experience a short circuit, causing them to fail and not properly display “critical safety information,” such as the speedometer or warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

“An (instrument panel cluster) that is not visible to the driver may result in the driver’s attention being diverted from the driving task while trying to locate a desired display, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning,” the Jeep recall says.

Recalled Jeep vehicles fail to comply with federal motor vehicle safety regulations, recall says

Stellantis said the issue causes the recalled Jeep vehicles to fail to comply with federal motor vehicle safety requirements.

The automaker is remedying the issue by having dealers replace the instrument panel clusters in the recalled Jeep vehicles, at no cost to vehicle owners.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 3, according to the recall. Drivers with more questions about the recall can contact Stellantis by telephone at 1-800-853-1403.

Stellantis issued a separate recall earlier this year for more than 330,000 model year 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs and model year 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs over concerns a damaged bolt could cause a wheel on the vehicles to fall outward, without warning.

I sold my other jeep gladiator because they keep telling me nothing was wrong with it I’m so upset right now because when I treated it I got a brand new one thinking ok nothings wrong with this one I had to flip the money I owed on it to the new one I called after I got a notice saying my new one will be doing the same thing they told me they don’t have any remedy yet they’ve known about this problem for over a year they need to be sued for this and refund everyone that’s had to eat the over payment that the dealerships wouldn’t give on trade-ins

I will never buy another jeep either, my jeep wiring has been chewed up by squirrels twice .
Corrosion problems and then my sales rep from Cassens tells me it is a jeep thing .lol.
Too much money to spend for a vehicle to rust out .

These newer Jeeps are garbage. We have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. It’s been in the shop since July 5th. Waiting for one gear for the timing chain. It will not be available till mid October of this year 2024. So it’s just been sitting. The Jeep has had multiple engine failures. I bought it used with 45,000 miles on it. Now has 67,000 miles on it. I’ve never paid for an oil change. The thing has been broke and in the shop so much they changed the oil on it because The engine continually fails. I have around now $6000.00 out of pocket for repairs. My extender warranty pick the rest up. I will never buy a Jeep again.

Not all jeeps are in the recall. I just called on my gladiator and they said it wasn’t one of them that was shorting out. But mine has dash board has been shorting out also!

We own a 2106 Jeep Wrangle, 2018 Sahara and a 2021 Rubicon. We have corrosion on all of them. Anyone else having this issue? A class action needs to happen.

  6. Jose Gonzalez says:

    I have a Jeep Wrangler 2018.

    1. Lisha Lattin says:

I do also and am frustrated! Got a recall letter for clutch plate almost 3yrs ago that dealership can’t get in stock now the whole panel is going to be recalled? We bought ours new to have all the maintenance done properly so why isn’t the company doing the same due diligence, I wonder.

      2. Krystal says:

2018 jeep wrangler – went to dealership for steering wheel issue (recall?) when I picked up jeep – they informed me when they were working on the steering the instrument cluster blew- wouldn’t fix it – so drove around with it broken (nothing working -complete black screen) until my jeep stopped working-shutting down while driving- and not starting – auto shops couldn’t figure out what was wrong or how to fix it

  7. lisa says:

I love my 2020 gladiator but there are glitches- ac just turned off yesterday and a few dash lights- odd? keep me posted thx

  8. Amanda says:

My daughters 2020 wrangler just had this issue over the last year and no jeep deal could figure it out until April 2024.

    1. Shannon says:

There are two “star” clusters behind the glove box. If you replace the GREEN one, most issues are resolved. Mine was about 90.00 from a dealer.
