Chrysler issued a recall for more than 200,000 Dodge Durango and Ram vehicles over concerns they contain a defective ABS control module that could cause their electronic stability control system to become disabled.Â
The Durango and Ram recall involves certain model year 2022 Dodge Durango SUVs, Ram 2500 pickup trucks and Ram 3500 Cab Chassis vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 10,000 lbs. Â
Chrysler said the defect causes the recalled Durango and Ram vehicles to fail to comply with federal motor safety standards and increases the risk of an accident.Â
Chrysler dealers to update ABS control module software for recalled Dodge Durango, Ram vehicles
Chrysler said it plans to remedy the issue by having its dealers update the ABS control module software on the recalled Dodge and Ram vehicles, free of charge.Â
The automaker plans to notify affected vehicle owners of the Ram and Durango recall by mail on July 26, 2024. Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Chrysler directly by telephone at 1-800-853-1403.
Chrysler initiated a separate recall earlier this year for more than 36,000 model year 2023-2024 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale SUVs over concerns they were equipped with inaccurate weight capacity labels.Â
