A class action lawsuit claims that the Cadillac User Experience navigation touch screen display system in some Cadillac vehicles possess a defect which could lead to “serious” safety concerns.
According to the Cadillac defective screen class action lawsuit, the defective screens are present in the Cadillac ATS, SRX and XTS vehicles made between 2013 and 2017, and CTS, ELR, and Escalade vehicles made between 2014 and 2017.
The Cadillac touch screen systems reportedly control many functions in the vehicles, including music, temperature control, Bluetooth, and the vehicles’ back-up camera. Allegedly, the screens are defective because they can “spontaneously delaminate, bubble or crack in a ‘spider-web’ formation.”
Plaintiffs Matt Goldstein, Percy Sutton, Julian Wilder, Lana Savage, Gladys Tubbs, Kendra Piazza, and Rafael Martinez claim that this is a dangerous defect because drivers use the touch screen to control features while driving.
Allegedly, the defects in the screen make the screen hard to view, and can possibly distract the driver while they drive, which could put passengers and others around the vehicle at risk for collision.
The Cadillac class action lawsuit goes on to say that the warranty provided by General Motors should cover this problem. However, the customers claim that General Motors makes a practice of refusing to repair the touch screen under warranty.
This refusal allegedly causes financial injury to the customers, because the have to pay out-of-pocket for repairs that can cost more than $1,000.
The customers say that had they known that the Cadillac vehicle they purchased possessed the defect, they would not have purchased it or would not have paid as much for it. Allegedly, they bought their vehicles assuming that they were free of defects.
Further supporting their claim that customers were financially injured by the defect, and should not have had to pay out-of-pocket for repairs, the customers claim that General Motors’ warranty for the vehicles cover all defects other than “slight noise, vibrations, or other normal characteristics of the vehicle due to materials or workmanship during the warranty period.” Allegedly, the touch screen defect does not qualify as normal characteristics.
Additionally, the Cadillac touch screen class action lawsuit says that simply replacing the touch screen with another CUE system does not help because customers end up having the same problem.

My screen spiderweb and now it’s useless. It was fixed once due to extended warranty. Less than 8 months later it spiderweb and my extended warranty had expired. I’ve had it non functioning for 2 years or so now. It’s annoying that they would sell faulty equipment to their customers.
My display screen cracked on the corners and the display touchscreen does not work. That’s where my issues started. Now the trunk hatch won’t open and that was followed by the security making it so the car doesn’t start, things showing up saying battery savor, abs and the doors locking you inside the car. This has been the worat car I’ve ever owned. The headlights are never bright enough to see well at night. All of these problems are safety concerns however the car isn’t under warranty and I can’t afford to fix them. Right before I had to get a new battery and alternator and replace my headlight bulbs.
My 2015 Escalade somehow got a spiderweb crack when it was parked in a sunny location over the 4th of July weekend this year (2025). I can’t access any audio (radio, SiriusXM or media), the clock time doesn’t show, I can’t adjust rear heat & air, the steering wheel controls have no backlight and numerous features I used to show in my speedometer area no longer work. Is it too late to become a part of the class action lawsuit?
I have had the CUE system changed twice, the first time under warranty. The second time, we paid to have it replaced. That second radio just stopped working; the screen is frozen and will not reboot. We took it to Cadillac dealership to have it repaired, the estimate for replacement is $2,200. Because the second radio unit is more than two years old, it is no longer under warranty.
2013 Cadillac, touchscreen has not been working in over 3 to 4 years. Is it too late to join lawsuit?
My Cadillac is just not performing as expected, not at all as . Has never been dependable. I have had this Cadillac since 2017. It has been in the shop approximately six times since purchasing it in 2017. Problems include but are not limited to, suspension problem. The back tail drops to the point it is hitting the asphalt, my air conditioner went out, the battery is draining constantly to the point when it drops as if the suspension, long lists of problems beginning shortly after purchasing the car. Cadillacs are supposed to be the top of line of American made cars. This one has been a disappointment. The offer is a joke based upon the problems I have had. I really need to get included in this lawsuit. Thank you
My 2015 SRX Cue screen has been replaced twice. Once under warranty the other Car Shield paid part of the Cost. The dealership was aware it had been replaced before. I should Not have been charged the 2nd time if it’s a known defect.
I have a 2015 Cadillac SRX. THE CUE system is not functioning, I cannot NAVIGATE the CUE SYSTEM. It is stuck on the ok and dismiss mode. It has recently formed a spider web appearance in the top left hand corner. I have tried to reset the CUE SYSTEM several times with no success.
