Paparazzi Toxic Heavy Metals Jewelry Class Action Lawsuit Overview:

  • Who: Tamie Hollins filed a class action lawsuit against Paparazzi, LLC.
  • Why: Hollins claims Paparazzi deceptively and misleadingly represented that its jewelry products don’t contain lead or nickel.
  • Where: The class action lawsuit was filed in New York federal court.

Paparazzi deceptively and misleadingly represented that its jewelry products are “lead-free and nickel-free,” a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Plaintiff Tamie Hollins claims jewelry sold by Paparazzi actually contains “detectable levels of lead and nickel” in addition to other heavy metals.

Paparazzi removed the “lead-free and nickel-free” representation from the company’s website between Nov. 20, 2021, and Jan. 9, 2022, according to the Paparazzi class action. However, many consumers had already purchased the jewelry with the belief that it was free of the metals.

A jewelry maker will use lead in its products to make them “more stable, brighten the paint or soften the plastic,” according to the Paparazzi class action.

Toxic Lead In Paparazzi Jewelry Endangers Consumers’ Health, Class Action Claims

Hollins argues lead is “toxic” and can lead to adverse health effects such as anemia, organ failure and learning disabilities.

Had consumers known Paparazzi’s jewelry products contained toxic heavy metals such as lead and nickel, Hollins claims, they would have neither purchased nor consumed them.

In addition to lead and nickel, Hollins claims Paparazzi’s jewelry products also contain toxic heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium and antimony.

Hollins claims Paparazzi is guilty of unjust enrichment and negligence and in violation of strict product liability and New York General Business Law

He wants to represent a nationwide class and New York subclass of consumers who have purchased a Paparazzi product when the company was making the allegedly false representations.

Plaintiff is demanding a jury trial and requesting declaratory relief along with compensatory, incidental, consequential and punitive or exemplary damages for herself and all class members.

A separate class action lawsuit was filed against Jared the Galleria of Jewelry owner Sterling Jewelers last year over claims the company inflates the weight of its diamonds

I was a consultant for the company and it’s not right that I had been trained to say that they were lead and nickel free to people I cared about and supported my business. I want to be a part of this lawsuit. What do I need to do?

  2. Denise Hewitt says:

This explains my health issues and rashes. I’ve been affected by this product

  3. Ronnie says:

This explains exactly why I’ve been feeling like dookie. It is unconscionable how shameless they have been about so loudly and conspicuously touting their jewelry as being free from specific ingredients that they are very much aware it is not free of. Doing this and knowing full well what the potential consequences are he had dismissing them as inconsequential and doing it anyway is the literal definition of temerity!

  4. Cynthia Budhisetiawan says:

I signed up as a consultant five years ago, and purchased roughly 1500 dollars worth of murchandise of which I still have all of it. I got deathly sick (for another reason though nothing to do with the jewelry) and due to me not ordering during my recovery they dropped me and I was unable to order any other products. When I ask to be reinstated they expressed I had to fill out another application and order another beginners kit, which of course I would need not to mention all the products I had made with my website and business cards would not be any good. I choose not to do so and other than giving it away, I really felt I would have no other options other than giving it away. I currently still have all the products and extra supplies I purchased.

    1. Barbara Hayes says:

Me too! And from what I have heard, we can’t sell all of that jewelry! So mine is sitting in a storage unit.

I spend a ridiculous amount of money purchasing jewelry as a consultant for 2 almost 3 yrs! One of my main selling points was that it was lead and nickel free. They train you to say that!

  6. Beth Hovet says:

I have purchased over 2,000.00 in paparazzi jewelry over the last few years and I would like to join in on this law suit or at least be allowed to return the jewelry and get full reimbursement since it was purchased under false representation! Please let me know how I can do this..
    Thank you.

  7. Ellen says:

I was looking to see if any of these lawsuits were open to join. I would not have joined if it did not boast that it was lead and nickel free.

I am affected by this company

  9. Teresa L says:

I was a consultant for Paparazzi and purchased many pieces of jewelry. Before joining, I researched their site and company claims that the jewelry did not contain lead or nickel and was safe. If I had know that was not true and had known there are many other toxic metals in their jewelry, I would never had joined and purchased any jewelry from them.

  10. Tanya Dawn Lawler says:

I was s consultant that spent over 10,000 and was told it was lead and nickel free I also sent 2 messages asking exactly what it was made of
