Small green plants growing in soilPlaintiff Margaret S., individually and in her services as the administrator for the estate of her husband, Clifton S., has filed a Roundup cancer lawsuit against Monsanto Company. The lawsuit alleges that the manufacturer of the popular weed killer knew or should have known about the dangers of glyphosate and Roundup.

She argues that her husband passed away as a result of continuous exposure to the popular herbicide, Roundup, which contains an active ingredient called glyphosate. She alleges that Roundup is dangerous to human health and unfit to be marketed or sold in commerce without appropriate directions and warnings about the dangers associated with its use.

The Roundup cancer lawsuit against Monsanto says that her husband was diagnosed with an aggressive and rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The lawsuit against Monsanto states that the deceased husband, prior to his death, received surgical treatment and numerous rounds of high dose chemotherapy, but he still developed an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma known as large B non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

According to the wife’s claims, her husband passed away on January 16th, 2018 because of respiratory failure linked to the complications of Roundup-induced cancer.

A growing number of legal claims against the Monsanto company have argued that the manufacturers of this weed killer should have known that the active ingredient glyphosate could cause lymphoma or other medical problems because of continuous exposure.

A number of individuals have begun to take legal action against Monsanto directly after the loss of a loved one, who used or was exposed through work to glyphosate.

A 2019 press statement from the Environmental Working Group alleges that the EPA and the United States ignored numerous peer reviewed independent studies that had drawn a connection between cancer and humans and exposure to glyphosate.

According to Cancer.org, some of the most common symptoms and signs of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma include weight loss, enlarged lymph nodes, chest pain or pressure, cough or shortness of breath, swollen abdomen, fatigue, easy bleeding or bruising or severe or frequent infections.

When any patient receives a severe diagnosis like cancer, they may first be concerned with getting the proper treatment. However, as many people begin to research their symptoms and exact diagnosis, they might discover others like them who all have something in common that might have caused their cancer.

For example, people who develop mesothelioma were exposed to asbestos fibers at some point in their life. A growing number of people diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma were regular users of the Roundup herbicide, a similarity the patients believe is a sure sign that glyphosate causes severe injuries and causes users to develop cancer.

Many of these affected patients and family members are turning to the courts with their claims to file lawsuits against Monsanto.

The Roundup Cancer Lawsuit is Case No. 5:19-cv-00016-JMH in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.
