wish-com

Consumers who were duped by Wish.com pricing that listed a fake “original” or “regular” price and corresponding discount can claim a cash award under a recent settlement agreement.

Wish.com sells a number of retail items through its website. Consumers who purchased an item through Wish.com between June 16, 2013 and Dec. 12, 2017 can receive up to $20 cash. According to settlement documents, there are nearly 22 million consumers who qualify as Class Members, making the potential value of this settlement more than $100 million.

The settlement resolves a class action lawsuit that alleged Wish.com tricked consumers into thinking they were getting a deal on items sold through its website. Lead plaintiffs Sherhonda Golden and Denise Valencia, said they they and other consumers fell for the alleged false advertising and paid more for items they purchased on Wish.com than they would have otherwise.

The Wish.com class action lawsuit alleged that by including a false “original” or “regular” price along with a supposed discount, Wish.com violated Missouri and California consumer protection laws and were also unjustly enriched.

Wish.com does not admit any liability under the terms of the class action lawsuit, but will pay between $3 and $20 to consumers who submit a claim. Class Members who can provide proof of purchase can receive up to $20, while those who do not have proof can claim $3.

Class Members can object to the settlement or exclude themselves by submitting a written request by March 2, 2018.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members include those in the United States who purchased products from Wish.com at a discount off the stated “original” or “regular” price between June 16, 2013 and Dec. 12, 2017, and who have not received a refund or credit for their purchases.

Potential Award

$3 – $20 depending on proof.

Proof of Purchase

Class Members who provide proof that the products they purchased were advertised for sale by another retailer within 90 days of the date of their purchases, using lower reference prices than advertised on Wish.com can receive up to 25 percent of the difference between the advertised reference price on Wish.com and the other retailer’s price up to a maximum of $20 per household.

Class Members who do not provide proof of purchase will receive $3.

They are still doing this which I have made screen shots and reported the posts to them. No response from them. They are basically getting most of their money for the products through the shipping charges, which they do not combine. As one posts stated, she bought $8 worth of product but was charged $33 in shipping. That’s ridiculous in my mind.

But, yes, their are products being posted at say $1 but they charge $4 at checkout. They are also misleading consumers with advertising a product with a picture of a product that doesn’t match the advertised price. The actual product that matches the advertised $X is in the buy options. The product you think you are getting for the advertised $X is a higher charge. I hope that makes sense. Wish is being very deceptive in more ways than you realize.

  2. Lisa Favuzzi says:

I received several smart watches from them, then found out they were fake China brands and cost 1/2 or less then they were charging me.

  3. Mary says:

Wish.com charges shipping on each item ordered. I placed an order that totaled $8.00 with shipping the total was $33.00

  4. Rebecca Feather says:

I wondered why I couldn’t find my account on my order history on wish even my wish list I had threatened to file a false advertisement and fraudulent claim against them for the fact that they keep sending me ads and I don’t get what they have dies and they say I’m paying for and then they’ve sending me a lot of fake stuff that has been stamped 925 silver and clearly is not now they purged all my information I can’t even get back into that account I ordered a phone least that’s what the ad said I was ordering they sent me this cheap low stand thing with an ugly face on it then when I question them about it they wanted me to send a picture and I told them I didn’t even want a refund I was going to file a lawsuit if they didn’t send me a phone that’s when everything disappeared

  5. Aida Medeiros says:

Wish charged me an item for 79.99, I did my homework, should of Bern, 19.00. Don’t go to wish anymore.

  6. Donna J Allison says:

I have ordered from wish.com in the past and didn’t realize, about the pricing problem… please, add me to the lawsuit .. they did charge more than, i thought i was being charged but, just figured maybe, i made the mistake .. very deceiving..

  7. Jon Gurian says:

I noticed that they have purged the history and records of all my past purchases on wish and each of their sites (geek &home) how are they allowed to do this?

  8. Sue says:

How can you get proof of what the item sold for on another website within 90 of your purchase when your purchase was more than 3 months ago?

    1. Top Class Actions says:

You need to contact the settlement administrator with your questions.

  9. Jamie Hayden says:

Wish just did this to me again in January 5 2018 they charged m 69.59 when it should of been like 7.00. I wrote and complained and they told me it was certain colors and sizes no where on the initial ad did it say anything about that my items were supposed to be $1.00 each and they charged me 13.00 for 1 and 3.00 for each and I ordered 4 everything I ordered was a lot more high priced or I wouldn’t have ordered it. They told me some sizes and colors are more expensive then others. No where in the ad did it say that!

  10. Jerry says:

If you see something on Wish almost 100% of the time it is cheaper on eBay “including shipping” which is where Wish pulls the bait & switch on pricing which is weird as they mainly get shipped from the same places and it makes you question what other deceptive practices are they up to?
