Walgreens agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it wrongfully denied applicants job opportunities due to background checks without providing the required notices.
The settlement benefits individuals who applied to work at Walgreens and were denied employment based on a background report obtained by Walgreens between March 30, 2020, and May 17, 2022.
According to the class action lawsuit, Walgreens failed to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) when denying job applicants employment based on their background reports. The pharmacy chain allegedly sent email notifications that did not meet FCRA requirements.
Walgreens is a national pharmacy chain with locations around the country.
Walgreens hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the FCRA class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, all class members are eligible for $100 payments. Class members may also be able to receive an additional payment of up to $818.28 if they intended to contact Walgreens to explain or dispute their background check but did not do so due to the email they received.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is May 23, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for July 23, 2024.
No claim form is required to receive a $100 payment. However, class members who submit a claim by May 23, 2024, can receive the additional $818.28 payment.

I applied no call back
Please add me to this class action I have applied several times at 3 different locations and my background was ran and never heard back after they had ran my background check
I’ve applied multiple times and at 2 different locations, never heard back from them. I even went personally to check my application status and was brushed off.
Never interview nor contact I have made attempts to contact never got a manager
I’ve applied and don’t have the numbers to do anything to submit claim
Send me Top Class Actions daily, because of lack of communication from those who owe us funds.
